I have thought about that, but I have been looking at new axles and lockers, and turning the truck into an f350 4x4 would not be too hard or expensive of a task. The 300 is a good engine (we all know that), and this truck would still have to be a daily driver, so it's not like I would be able to have anything bigger than like a 351 or something anyways because I really can't afford high gas bills. The truck would not be lifted too high, and the biggest tires I would get would probably be 37's, but more realistically like 33's or 35's. But I figure the truck would finally be a worthy platform for the bulletproof 300. You know you ain't gonna break the 300, and in an f350 4x4 you ain't likely gonna break the truck either.....

and yeah, i'll pm you after this if you still wanna talk

Oh and about valve covers I was at the junkyard today and noticed a couple of early 80's trucks with 300's in them with valve covers with out those posts in the back near the firewall. they were pretty clean looking.... and painted blue from the factory it looked like. Mine was gray from the factory. I painted it blue.
