1991 302 torque specifications

i am well on the way in building my 1991 302. everything is stock just new. i have a Haynes repair manual and it shows everything in ft lbs. and i have a in lbs wrench is there a way to convert it.. like i need the main bearing caps and rod specs. in in-lbs it list

connecting rod nut--- 40 -45 ft lbs
main bearing caps ---95 - 105 ft lbs

Simple.. multiply by 12. I bet you'll find your in/lb wrench doesn't go high enough for many of these ratings.

Actually my Chiltons says 19-24ft/lbs on the rod bolts and 60-70ft/bs on the mains for a 5.0. The numbers you quote are for a 5.8.

Hey don't sweat it I can see how you missed it. I took a quick look at my Haynes manual and it doesn't seem to present the specs in as much detail as the Chiltons which has a whole section(9 pages) of TQ specs in table format for each year and engine.
