So they took the heads off and checked for cracks? That is bold of them. Seems to me that they would check the head gaskets and call you before pulling heads. If they didn't pull heads yet, maybe they just need a straightening cut and new gaskets and your not out so much money. Still sucks though.

1450 is cheap for heads i paid 2650cdn each my head job was 11000$ with studs,egr delete and labour parts are sure a lot cheaper south of the border

My total bill for Oil,EGR cooler and HG's ended up totaling $5200. Between my recent repairs I put out over $7000 but did get some assistance from Ford so my out of pocket expenses went down a little. If something else major starts going wrong I just hope it will hold out long enough for me to trade it in. I can't justify spending this kind of money to keep something running that was defective from the the factory. I have not checked but are any of the other diesels out there having this much trouble? I wish I had the tools, time, and space to work on these things. I know I capable to do it. Good luck, hope it all works out for you.
