1979 Ford F-150 Ranger Lariat 2wd - long bed
Year: 1979
Make: Ford
Model: F-150
Price: $2500
Mileage: 0
Color: Red / Grey
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
Color: Red
Engine: 351m
This is a 79 F-150 2wd long bed - ranger / Lariat package.
It is red/grey now - but looks to have been silver (where the red is) and black (where the grey is) before.
Truck has a 351m with 50k miles on a rebuild. I believe the trans is a c6 - but I have not verified.
Rear end is a 9" and I believe it has 4.10 gears (again - not verified)
The truck runs and drives but seems like it needs a starter which I should have a good one in the shop. It also needs some pumping of the pedal to get the brakes to work so I'm pretty sure the brakes need to be bled.
This thing has all the trim (race track) but the trim has its share of dents/dings.
The truck also has a tilt steering column with cruise control, an AM/FM radio (not Ford model - but dash was not hacked up) and the courtesy ligthing kit.
Driver front turn signal lens is missing and the grill shell is a little dinged - but presentable.
The sheet metal has some dents/dings as well (front, driver corner of hood, pass door and bedside), but all in all it's not HORRIBLE. I've seen better and seen worse.
The bed is solid - no rust and the cab looks to be. I can crawl under it to take pics - but from the outside there is no signs of rust in the roof, cab corners, etc.
Rear window is a slider.
Has 3 of the original hub caps. I guess the 4th was lost on the freeway sometime back. Crappy aftermarket hub caps on it in pics - but I have pics of the real ones.
Interior is ok. Headliner is good and all chrome trim is there. Dash pad is faded - but not wasted. Door panel are cracked where the speaker "holes" are - but the upper, trim portions are good.
It has an aftermarket or custom made carpet kit.
I bought this truck from a local guy who is out of work and needed some quick cash. Therefore I do not know the truck extrememly well but am describing it as best I can. The guy was the 3rd owner but the truck has seen its share of use.
I have more pics than what I show below and have no problem taking pics of anything specific you want.
Price is $2500 if I put in the started and bleed the brakes.
$2200 obo if you want to do that.
If you have been around 73-79 trucks you have seen what the parts out of this thing go for. I KNOW I could make more by parting this - but I don't want to mess with it and would rather sell whole to someone who can enjoy it.
I will do my best to work with you on shipping the truck if need be - but I have never done that before so bear with me.
PM me or post here with any pic request, questions, etc. I will not post my phone number on an open forum like this - but am totally open to handing it out over PM.

A while back we talked about this truck.
Do you still have the under dash courtsey lights & wiring? If so, I am interested in buying them.

Still have it. I have too much going on to start parting this thing out though.
Therefore I am selling it whole as of now.
So anybody make an offer on the whole thing!!!!!!

I know - I can't believe it's still here. Especially after hearing what guys back there pay for rust free cabs or beds! Out here it's "just another rust free truck" though.
I figured someone back east could buy the thing, ship it out there and keep the parts you want but sell the other parts to make your $$ back. It's a good way to get a free, rust free cab!
I would part it out but I don't have the time or space right now after just parting 2 broncos...

For the trim - sure, but to anyone BUT you Dave
Sometime soon I will be dismantling this thing so shoot me a PM or email if you want something. I'm being lazy as of now as I am hanging onto the hope of getting rid of it in 1 piece. I KNOW I will make more by parting it, but in all honesty I'd rather spend the time working on my crew cab.
Oh and it needs a flexplate rather than a starter. Due to that $900 + shipping.
