2006 f250 code po211 and po611 any help would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry I meant code po299 and po611

I have a 2006 F-250 w/127,000 miles

started running bad a few days ago, it surges heavily going down the road you can hear the motor and then silence, more motor then silence (a very weird power surge)and also the turbo guage go up and down, and when it does, it honks out black smoke. It will barely do 65 mph. when I let off you can hear the turbo shatter like it has too much back pressure. I can hold it at one speed and it runs like crap!

the engine light came on and codes po299 and po611 came up, they are low boost and loss of FICM power or other internal FICM failure

I took out the VGT valve and its not stuck, new fuel filters,I cleaned the egr valve,

I need advice, the pcm is $1000, VGT $350, I dont want to just replace everything.

I have a nice truck and am afraid to drive it down the road if fear something is going to blow into peices

not sure about the 299 code but I had a CEL and a 611 code and it was a bad FICM...truck ran fine and didn't notice anything.

x2 you will get more help in the 6.0 forum...

Not sure on the 299 the 611 is most likely a bad FICM. PO611 is an internal fault. The 299 could be a product of that. Sounds like the truck is going into fail-safe mode(or limp mode) This cuts back engine performance to prevent further damage. Probably sucks fuel like pouring it from a bucket.

I actually reposted this in the 6.0 forum and got some good replies.
I had the computer flashed and for the last 2 days it has been running fine. but it has been doing just that, one day its ok and the next badly. for a while it was doing it like clock work at an 1/8 of a tank it seemed, I dropped the tank and replaced the cheap rubber filter thinking it was sucking air. but it done it at a full tank after, just a coincidence I guess

oh and I cannot believe it doesnt have a baffle in the tank, I race r/c remote control gas cars and even they have baffles in the tanks, but I guess you should really be running it that low on fuel, taking a chance of running out

thanks for your thoughts,Jody

first time in my life, truck is fixed, cost me nothing!

I took my truck to the local Ford dealer and after they tested it, they said the FICM module was bad,as I expected. I got home and took it off hoping maybe the plug had corrosion or something b/c one side of the module puts out high voltage. it looked to be in perfect shape. My best guess would be that since it has 127,000 miles, the plug after getting hot so many time sending high voltage, simply lost continuity. they are just pin plugs, not what I would have put on the truck but what ever. I greased all three plugs and reinstalled the module and it has been perfect for over 200 miles. It runs 100% and all due to the plug. saved me $815.00 and an upset wife as well, now she has more money for shoes

I hope this helps someone else-Jo
