04 5.4 coolant re-fill

Can any tech help me on how to refill the coolant after a drain and flush or does this maint. have to happen at the dealer???? Thanx

You fill it thru the overflow tank. I usually fill it until the level is just above the bottom of the overflow, then start the truck and let it warm up. The coolant level will rise as the engine warms up. It may burp over the top as air leaves the system. Once the thermostat opens, the level will drop back down, then you just top it off until full.
I guess this is what you are wanting to know since there is no cap on the radiator?

That is what I wanted to know but will that method fill the radiator if it is completely drained since I want to replace the coolant?????

One last question if I drain the system when it is hot will it also drain most of the coolant from the block am trying to figure out how to get close to a 50/50 mix???? Thanx LX

I don't think it will matter hot or cold. It should drain about the same amount either way.
