I have recently discovered the electric trailer brakes on my '94 F-350 are not working... The pin at the trailer recepticle is dead, and the pin connector for the brake controller under the dash is also dead... What fuse/relay feeds power to this harness, or what else should I be looking for??
Are there any lights working on the controller when you push the brake pedal? There should be a power all the time wire feeding the controller, and a wire that is usually red that has power when the brake pedal is pushed. There is usually a white wire that is ground. If you have power on the hot wire, and power on the wire from the pedal switch, then the controller outputs voltage to the blue which goes back to the trailer connector for the brakes.
Was this controller hooked up custom or did it have a connector from the factory and someone used that. If they used a factory setup, I am not sure where the fuse is for your year. They changed it often. The first place to look would be the underdash fuse box, but there also may be some odd boxes here and there under the hood that may have a fuse.
