Anyone in Sacramento or close to it?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Jun-02 AT 02:51 PM (EST)]My Ford Truck is Completely stock. Im 17 and i always see some of those good looking custom trucks going down the road, but never once do i get to stop, and talk to the drivers. Anyone is Sacramento or around here that has a Ford Truck?
I want to install Flowmasters, but want to hear what model i want before i spend the cash.
I want to see what diffrent lifts look like in person before even thinking about buying.
Wheels and rims too.
Thanks!

Hi Yeti, I am in marysville, but all I have is old stuff.
A buddy of mine went with the banks turbo and exhaust kit, with the
exhaust brake.

all in all to me a deisel sounds like a deisel.

I'm in Sac. I've got an F-150 4x4. It's got a lift, full 2 1/2 inch dyno mufflers, yadda yadda. My truck has a deep throaty sound. But, you're lookin for a newer truck, right?

Some guy drove by my house yesterday with a 79 F-150 custom. Said he'd sell us the trruck, or we can buy the truck, and take the parts, and he'll pick up the leftovers. All I need is the steering column, and some knick knack parts

I live just south of Visalia! Anyway, Flowmasters are good. I had them on my '94 4X4. If memory serves, the main issue with which Flowmaster to choose is: 1-, 2-, or 3-chamber muffler. Each chamber increases the amount of flow restriction (1 is the least, 3 is the most), BUT 1's are consequently the loudest (then 2's, with 3's being the quietest). I had 2-chambered Flowmasters with a 3" exhaust on my 5.0 '94 4X4. It had a deep, moaning sound, not too loud. In hindsight after I had the exhaust system installed, I actually thought that perhaps I wasn't hetting enough back-pressure due to the large (3") exhaust system. Seemed to "bog" a bit. Maybe it was just a case that the 5.0, though a good motor, was too small for the weight and size of the 4X4???

Have you compared the air-flow ratings of the Flowmaster versus the DynaMax? Hmmm.... food for thought! C-ya!

Talking Anyone in Sacramento or close to it?

Well, I'm a CA native who lives in NV (if that counts for anything) . Look through the Gallery for comparable vehicles. For exhaust sounds, try http://www.exhaustsoundclips.com/ford.html.

However, before buying anything, what is the trucks function...off-road monster, daily driver, half&half, tow vehicle? Once the function is decided, search the forums for the various upgrades in mind and ask the owners questions. Are the upgrades for the 2001 F250 PSD?

Good luck,

Chris

hey Yeti,
I live in Roseville. I've got a '90 Bronco. You definitely want a 2-stage flowmaster. I've got one and it sounds awesome. My buddy got a single-stage on a yota.. and it sounds like a lawnmower on crack... it was so pikin loud... and i think a 3-stage will be too quiet.. also, make sure to get a nice big 3 inch tip on. The tip acts as a bull-horn and reverberates the sound!!
