Tuner on 6.0 w/ARP?

Bought a 05 6.0 in Feb. Two months later EGR went after installing 4" Banks Monster Exhaust from turbo back. Replaced EGR and installed Banks Ram Air. One month later EGR went again. Now have ARP head studs, EGR delete, new glow plugs, thermostat and housing. Truck now has 122k. Shall i leave it alone now or should i be ok installing the Banks Six-Gun with Speed loader since the installation of ARP studs and EGR Delete?

IMO, you should forget about a Banks tuner. I've had the Six Gun for over a year, and about a year ago I switched to SCT with custom tunes from Innovative. Day and Night bro! The Six Gun didn't even come close to SCT in power, nor in shifting, etc...
The price is great - compared to Banks, and no matter what, I NEVER would get anything else, than SCT. Oh, by the way, I'm not a salesman of SCT, but one really satisfied customer.
Anyone you ask here will tell you the same....

And you have had no problem with Headgaskets with a tuner. Am more concerned about having to fix this thing again and again than having a Banks. Just want a tuner dosent matter which one really as long as it works the way it should.

If you have head gasket problem after ARP studs, than the installation wasn't properly done.
I have ARP-s, I installed it myself. With the Xtreme Race program - from Innovative - , the highest boost i've seen was close to 38 psi.
I did some crazy races, I did some extreme burnouts, I even blow my transmission - because of my driving style - and I never lost a drop of coolant - since I have the studs.
Heck, I didn't even have any engine issue since that!
Believe me , you would be way happier with the SCT tuner, than a Banks - I've had both. On the 6.0, the SCT is the way to go. You have endless options for programs for what you want to use your truck for.....

It is up to that, what program you use, the racing programs add about 175hp.
But it's not just that, the SCT also programs your transmission, and that's the real advantage of it. Here are some numbers of Spartans programs:

Stock+ 20HP - "tweaked" stock calibration

Heavy Tow 40HP - safe to tow Max GVWR of vehicle

Heavy Tow w Engine Brake 40HP - safe to tow Max GVWR of vehicle, with turbocharger exhaust braking

Aggressive Tow 65HP - safe to tow/haul 10,000LBS payload

Aggressive Tow w Engine Brake 65HP - safe to tow/haul 10,000LBS payload, with turbo exhaust braking

General Economy 90HP - daily-use economy file, 7500LBS tow/haul limit

Max Economy - designed for maximum fuel economy; no assigned power or tow ratings

Mild Street Economy 100HP - daily-use performance and economy calibration

Aggressive Street Economy 130HP - daily-use performance and economy calibration

Hybrid Race 150-170HP - (dependant upon calibration) performance calibration

Ultra Competition 175HP - drag-race/sled pull ONLY calibration

If you don't have a coolant filter on there I'd certainly do that next and then maybe a ccv reroute. After all that you've done, egr delete, arps, plus the cf and ccv mod u you should have a good solid truck except for the usual sensors and what not going out. I'd have to agree with dcaddi2 on the tuner. The sct is the way to go.

Stay away from banks! I have never heard of anyone that has ran these on a 6.0 without having problems. Like said before go with either the sct or the Spartan tunner. Thy both do custome tunes for the truck and tune the trans as well. That is the problem with the off the self tunners like banks, bullydog, etc... They don't tune the trans for the added power.
