fusible links actual location

I see 2 wires running off the starter solenoid of my 78 302 that are marked fusible link. However, when I pull back the rubber coating so marked the wire is solid at this point which is right at the solenoid connections. So fi they are fusible where in the wire is the fusible part?

The truck will not start because it has no spark. It turns over fine and the ignition module, the coil, and even the distributor are all new. I tried switching back the old ignition module and still no spark. Evidently I've thrown away the old coil. I took the new parts to Advance Auto and they say they have no way to test them. I'm not sure how to test them myself but do have a digital multi-meter.

BTW the cap, rotor and wires are only 3,000 miles/ one year old. The truck was running fine but one day just failed to start. That's when I replaced the module and coil. It started but when I got to where I was going, turned it off and then tried to start for the return trip it wouldn't start and hasn't run since. It was then that I replaced the distributor as the old one was really rusty.

Thanks. That thread is so long with so much detail I'm printing it out and will take it, along with my multi-meter, out to the truck tomorrow if it doesn't rain. As noted I put in a new distributor so I hope it hasn't been fried.
