No, the 99-04 Stupid duty springs were dimensionally the same. THe 99 truck was an oddball with a slightly different u bolt configuration, and the 05 introduced coil springs.
How much lift do the SD spring give you over a 80- early 90's F350 stock spring?
Unfortunately Mr. N that is a loaded question. Ford used several different springs in these trucks and each had a slightly different deflection than others, and the ones with greater deflection would offer a higher ride heigth.
Typically an average SD spring will net approx 5 inches over stock when used with a shackle reversal kit. More lift can be obtained if the shackle and hanger is made a little longer.
Rule of thumb is to expect about 5 inches over stock with the SD spring retrofit and a shackle reversal kit.

Thanks for the info...
- They might be a little high for my needs.
Want to get rid of this block... they have a negative arch.
That would make the people giving out wrong info dumb, fat boy... and you spelled you're wrong. :flipoff2:
Yes I started it. Ran like crap with as much timing as you wanted on it, it's set at 12-13ish initial, and mid-low twenties total until I get some better fuel and bump it up a bit.

Just look for a set of front coilsthey are evervwhere for a F150's.
Best way to go unless you want it to flex like a bulldozer
I used to think that too until I saw Ed's trucks all flexed out. Leaf springs can flex surprisingly well when set up properly. I still like the superflex coils on the front of my bronco though..

I've been thinking about using rear springs on the front of my mud buggy too. I'm by no way an expert, but if you take some springs out of the pack. Wouldn't that lesson the stiffness? Or maybe you could use springs from like a ranger or something similar. What's the payload of those small trucks? 1000+?? Seems to me that if you add the weight of the engine, tranny/transfer, and body you come pretty close to that. I wish I could go coil, but for me it's either spend money on the suspension, or use the money for gears/spool.
