Rough idle after fuel filter change

I changed my fuel filters the other day and performed a slack-azz ignition on/off procedure, and started it up. The engine ran rough and the whole truck and engine were shaking in a consistent chug-chug like manner. Never had that issue before. I drove it down the street after about 30 seconds of idling and everything smoothed out. No warning lights came on, no smoking, and the fuel pressure gauge said 50 psi.

Was this caused by air in the fuel lines?

Also, if the filters get too dirty/clogged will it affect fuel pressure? Can a dirty filter cause a lower pressure? I suppose it could be the air temperature but the fuel pressure seems a few PSI higher more consistently after the filter change.

ljutic ss is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Sounds like you had air intrusion, with dirty filters you can still have enough pressure, but it will cut down on the required flow of fuel.
