Exclamation 02 expy 5.4 EB - please help!!!

ok, so for a few weeks or longer now, my expy has been beeping. its not a beeping like when the seat belt isnt engaged or the door is open with the key in the ignition, its a ding like a sensor warning or something. can someone maybe know what this is? it does it while i am driving, or if i am parked with only the radio on.

also, i have the entertainment system in the rear, and it doesnt work. i believe its unplugged (as i bought it used, and my dumb a$$ didnt have it checked or check it myself). can someone tell me where it may plug in at? i have already took apart the system up top and the headliner, and everything there is connected. maybe behind the radio, or under carpet somewhere? i dont want to dig into it unless i get an opinion from someone that may know.

and...my cruise control all of a sudden stopped working. i have checked what resources i can for recalls, and my VIN pulls nothing. it worked fine before, and now it doesnt. any ideas?

when i start my car, it jerks forward a little, and sometimes, like when i go over a speed bump, it will surge like go from 5 mph to 10 all of a sudden, and sometimes on the hwy it will do that.

and last thing, i read in my manual that i can get a tether installation kit for car seats, and i contacted ford directly and told me to contact the local dealer, well, the local dealer told me i had to pay for it, when the book says that it is no cost to me, and i would also think that the dealership would be reimbursed for the loss of this item, but according to this guy, guess not. is this so? do i have to pay for it, or would my manual be correct even though its 7 years old?

Turn your key on and see if your airbag light comes on. If it doesn't, the ding you're hearing is a warning from the airbag module that the airbag light is burnt out.

I have read that the door latch mechanism can get sticky and needs lubrication. Spray WD-40 or something along those lines, open and close all your doors a few times, and see if that stops the problem.

On my father's 90 Lincoln Town Car, his stopped all of the sudden also. Ford dealership said all of the buttons on the steering wheel were bad and needed to be replaced. Calling BS, he took it to a local mechanic who found the problem: disconnected plug under the hood. Don't really have any solutions on this.

If I had to give you a starting point, I'd clean the MAF (mass airflow sensor). There is a write up on it somewhere that I've seen whether its this forum or another Ford one. There's a spray you can buy to do it but you have to be careful since its a real thin wire. There's something else I am thinking about with the intake for cleaning but I can't think if it at the moment.

You're probably thinking of the IAC valve.

You can find a list of Recalls and TSBs at the top center of this page. Just click on the "Recalls/TSBs" link.

Alternately, you can get it from the horses mouth.
