RAS and RS9000 Install Complete--First Impressions

Just finished initial test drive with the RAS and RS9000XLs (dialed in at #5). Did some around town, highway, etc.

First impressions--very favorable!!!

Truck handles much tighter (never expected it to handle like a sports car to begin with, but it's definitely much firmer, more stable). Haven't towed with it yet (maybe this weekend).

Rear end is noticeably higher than it was, both from the driver's seat, and from the profile. I think the entire truck stands a little taller, but it could just be that I haven't driven it in a while.

Tonight's test drive was with no steering stabilizer at all, and I still need to do the steering gearbox adjustment, but overall, I'm very pleased.

Highly recommend!

Glad you got her done...since I installed the RAS back in early 2007 and all the miles I have towed...I can't tell you how well behaved this beast is...very predictable...and when you are rolling down the road at 17,000#'s combined and near 60' tip to tail (Ex, trailer, hitch and hitch bar, bike racks front and rear)...it is VERY important to be predictable!

The overall handling characteristics of the Ex with rear sway bar, RAS and a good set of shocks are impressive...now that also means that your front end is tight (ball joints, etc)...

My Ex is mostly a tow and snow vehicle though...and she does both great...for those that use theirs also as a people mover...the 9000XL's on a softer setting would be a great choice...

Keep us informed as to how you feel the handling is when towing...

Thanks for the report.

Joe.
