Certain methods can undercut the edge and promote cracks. Now many vehicles will never see enough abuse to ever crack, but mine do. I am pretty rough on my rides.
Keep in mind that my concepts are only concepts and I have zero data to support my theory.
It is quite possible, I am full of hot air.

79Ford4x4 is starting off with a positive reputation.
Damn, that is nice. I have never seen a plate run on the outside the lenght that you went. Only small portions where someone wanted to mount rock sliders and such.

You don't need the outer plate being that long do you?

Hell.. I didn't even really think you needed an outer plate..
