I'M BACK!!!!!!!
Don't know if I was missed for the better part of the last two weeks, but I decided after my wife's death, I needed some time to clear my head. I have pulled my teardrop camper about 950 miles, won a trophy in the suede and beater class for the truck and had a ball at a teardrop gathering. I think it was exactly what I needed. Now if it will stop raining long enough, I have to go back to that dirty word that ends in K, WORK, yuck!
OK, now we resume the regular brodcast........
Jeff, Good to hear from you! Now fill us in on what we missed in the mean time..
Let's see, did we get the A/C installed?..interior progress? I've got a pretty good idea what a tear-drop gathering is, but fill us in anyway...details,we need details!

Always good to hear from you!
Let's see, A/C not installed yet, maybe by spring. Interior, sound deadened and insulated the roof and rear wall, installed the headliner. Just this much has made it so much quieter in the cab, no longer like sitting inside a drum. As soon as I can get the cowl vent sealed and stop a few more water leaks, I'll do the floor and firewall and install the carpet kit.
Teardrop gathering, bunch of fun loving folks who happen to travel with teardrop campers and get together to have a feast and long BS sessions around the campfire.(I think I finally went to bed around 2AM this morning and my sides are hurting from laughing so much) We had 65 teardrops at Lake Claiborne State Park in norther Louisiana and probably 175 people. A lot of newbies who were just looking and getting ideas for their builds. Most of the trailers there were homebuilt, theyare just as unique as the builder, just as most of our trucks are. I wish I had taken a lot of photos, but I never even got the camera out of it's bag.
My 53 made the trip without a single problem, got around 17-18 MPG pulling my 1600 lb. teardrop.
Cool !! , I wouldn't have expected any problems with the truck..I know you have that handled...mostly prying some info on the Tear-drop gathering LoL!
I've seen alot of them as of late,I think they are gaining in popularity..cheaper and more practical than the 35' bump-out and the PSD combo ... LoL! Lot's of them at the bigger car shows/bike shows...and easier on the old back than a pup-tent floor...( I think I'm too old for that crap anymore...)
