mystery wire not attached to anything

I keep forgetting to ask you fine individuals about this one. In the front right wheel well of my 2000 7.3L Crewcab, there is a wire hanging there not connected to anything, and I can't seem to find a connection port it should snap in to. All my lights and everything work fine. I've owned the truck for ten months now and still can't think of any accessory or feature not working.

Here are some pics:

I'm not sure hotlinking from my online photo storage always works out right on this site, so here is a link to the gallery where I put them:

MobileMe Gallery

But really all you need to know is up there in the text. Is there possibly some optional accessory this could have tied in to? There are the yellow-plastic-encased, triangluar pieces on the side of each headlight that don't seem to do anything aside from maybe be reflectors, but I can't seem to find how a wire could get in to those anyway.

The plug looks different than my 02 but try looking behind the inner fender shroud to see if you find the other end. Just a guess, anti-lock brakes?

I forgot to add that the wire disappears in amongst a bigger bundle of wires that run under the right-side battery. Haven't got around to disconnecting that battery for a little TLC on the posts yet, been busy lately.

I had my bumper off but just don't remember what the plugs to the driving light looked like.

I have the same wire on my early 99. It's right behind the passenger side front wheel guard. I don't know where it goes to. Mine has a grey plug on the end. Is your truck 2x4? Mine is. Maybe its for the electronic hub locker?

Right side looking at the engine bay from outside the vehicle with the hood up? Or right side of the vehicle while sitting in the drivers seat?

It's always good to refer to whichever side you mean as drivers side or passenger side, that way there's no confusion.

I can only guess, but I think possibly they mean either daytime running lights, or the clear fog lights, which I don't think the '00's have.

I just noticed on my early 99 (as I was putting it back together this evening) that the horn is buried in the fender in front of the passenger side front wheel well. can't tell from your pictures what the plug looks likes. But if it's in that spot and has two contacts, may be a possibility.

I've got something along those lines on my late 99. I actually have an identical plug on the other side, too.

Being that mine is a 2x4 work truck, I figured it was for fog lights or for some kind of hub sensor. Everything works fine on my truck, so I could care less what it might be for.

I hit submit before finishing the post.
It's for front wheel ABS which was an option.
