Personally I think all 1/2 trucks are waste of space. They have a payload equal to sedans and are always overloaded as their size is confused with strength. Keep the F250 (if you actually have one) or downgrade to a Tacoma and save on gas.
your mother ever teach you to think before opening your mouth??
1/2 ton trucks are awesome for what they're intended for. the sector of the market that says "i only need a 1/2 ton truck" because i don't need to tow 15k#'s or have 2k#'s in the bed. my F150 has a payload of just over 1200lbs which i'd love to see a sedan haul...and a towing capacity of about 8800#... love to see a sedan haul that. you know another thing?? the F150 has about another 2-4 inches of box depth over the superduty and other trucks enabling me to get all my tools in the box and still close and lock the tonneau. i couldn't do that in a SD.
now, if you'd said that 1/2 ton toyota trucks are a waste of space, that saying is a little more truthful...but, they still have a place in the market... its called, "making the Ford look better everyday"...

Looks as if you should have got the Toyota in the first place.. Do some better homework this time so you will be sure the Toyota is what you need. I see no reason to keep a truck you are sick of...

Didn't mean to hit a nerve but you'd love to see a sedan haul 1,200lbs? Well every one you see with a family on board and a couple of bags is doing it so everyday must be Valentines for you. Even my sedan has a payload of 950lbs, regular sedans manage the extra 250lbs on the sticker with regularity.
Towing and space for tools a sedan couldn't do as well but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the Tundra as being a match for your f150-- so is a Ranger with a cap.

It would seem a more equal comparison to ask if a sedan could have a full family of 4 PLUS 1200 lbs in the trunk. To say a sedan can do what an f150 can do is the strangest thing I have heard at least so far today. The day is young though.

No disagreement there. Fair bit of facetiousness in my previous post given the combativeness and "rile-ability" of the Sherminator.
Remember, passengers come off payload on pickups too...
thanks... i return the favor. you have some very good posts here, and though i'm not a PSD/SD owner, i enjoy reading.

sorry, but it was early, and i dearly love my "very capable" F150... i'll go to bat for it any time there's an ill word against it. thanks for the Sherminator name though, haven't heard that since high school...

All good bud. Apologies from me for how I worded my first post. The F150s a damn fine truck and my weak excuse for rant is that I was cut off by a 1/2 ton Ram that was overloaded with it's rear fender on the ground about forty mins prior to posting. My beef was with him and there was no need for my collateral damage. This is indeed a good site and the civility of members here is one of its best features.
if its a new ram, the coil rear spring system is definately a step back towards the cave-man days... heck, if chevy gave it up in the 70's, why should it work now in a dodge??
oh...to the OP, good luck if you do happen to be more than a troll... (which i doubt)
Been driving "F" trucks for the past 40 years. Love my 6.4 F250. I have never owned/driven a better truck. When better trucks are built Ford will build them

I did the opposite and will say I am happier with the Ford I have then the Toyota and don't get me wrong it was a nice truck for driving but if you tow anything have the credit card ready to stop a lot at gas stations as on my truck which was the Toyota Tundra when I pulled my boat (about 4000 lbs) I only got 8-9 miles a gallon and that was driving 70 and just before I got rid of it I was pulling my car trailer which weighed around 7500 pounds I had to stop every 140-150 miles to get gas which is why I got rid of it. And the tilt sterring was a pain adjusting but just for driving to and from work and hauling my 4 wheeler it was nice it had more room inside the truck and more storage room but again if you plan on hauling I would reconsider like I said on a 1000 mile trip I must have stopped 10 times to fill up.
