Howdy...I do some 4 wheeling once in a while. I live just north of you in Roanoke Rapids. There isn't a lot of places to go around here. I'd like to get out around the state or area some and find some other places and people with the same interest. You can email me if you like at>>> Midnighthowler21(No Email Addresses In Posts!) Maybe we can get a group together sometime and go hit the trails for a day or so.

I know where to go: there is Tellico and the Grandfather Mountain/Wilson Creek Gorge area out west, the Uwharrie Mountains in the central part of the state, the Croatan National Forest down east, the Cape Hatteras Nat'l Seashore Area onthe Outer Banks, and Fort Fisher near Wilmington. I have been to all but Uwharrie, and I plan to go there this year.

I have been to Uwharrie with my 4 wheeler. Lots of rocks,no mud some mild big rocky hills. Mostly its kinda open but since we drive big trucks it will be kinda tight. I dont know if there is only one spot for trucks but the jeepers were on our trail. It was real dusty last summer so bring a extra air filter.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-May-02 AT 10:27 PM (EST)]There's a place in raleigh off of New Hope Road between highway 64 and poole road. If you are going north, it is past the landfill, just after a bridge that goes over the railroad. It is a fairly decent place with a lot of dirtbikes and ATV's. It is not much, but there are a few mudholes and even a place where you can actually cross crabtree creek (it is only about 2 feet deep). If ya'll have any questions regarding this place or want to go wheeling with me, then email me at perryphilip(No Email Addresses In Posts!)

btw... i live in north raleigh.
