Wow all I have to say is just wow. I have been fighting turbo problems since RR East. Once I got to Tennessee the max boost I could get was 15 PSI. So with a little investigating from Peter (duckfan) We saw that I have a Up pipe that was not sealing and it was a relay bad leak. So in Tennessee we added Clay's (Riffraff Diesel Performance) up pipes and his I/C boots to and wow what a difference that made I got up to 23 PSI and a huge throttle response increase but still 23 PSI for my TN BB turbo was low and also the fact that at the truck Peter keep walking away from me . So once I got home I decided to make a boost leak finder. I finally got around to building it and once I connected it right away I heard I had a problem. The air compresser could not keep more then 10 PSI in it and it sounded like some one had an air house in the valley and was just letting it run and run. So I looked cloase and saw gasket material in the vally and connected the dots to the passenger side intake manifold. I could not believe how bad it was leaking. So fast foward 3 weeks and I finally got around to fixing it. Once Chris and I got it put back together I could not believe it was the same truck. While we were doing the intake maniflod I swapped in my stock turbo so I can send my TNBB out to Clay for a little up grades, but even with the stock turbo I was hitting 32 PSI at WOT. I have never felt this truck so strong before I was over whelmed. Can't wait to see what the TN BB will do . So the point of this post was to Thank every one who Helped me in Tennessee ( Peter, Clay, Mark, Jim, Phil to name a few) and before you go replacing parts that don't need replacing ( I was thinking about buying an I/C cause I could not think of any other place for a leak) check the cheap stuff first lol,
Nick

I was just wondering how you fixed it? Is it a replaceable gasket? I have the feeling I've got the same type of leak, can hear air in the valley when testing. Great to hear you're getting that much boost!
I know Lisa, 400 bones though makes it a tough pill to swallow!
No kidding. I looked at the same option...just be glad you have an '03. I have to do a full late conversion (turbo, spyder, everything) to do the International bellowed up pipes to fix my boost leak.

Well I think Clay had one more set of up pipes when we crashed at your house but I know you an Earlie 99 Does that mean different up pipes? Could had them installed for you

Yep, different EVERYTHING. I can't even use the pretty red boots Clay gave me. Maybe a BIG project for RRE, if I can find someone who wants my early bird turbo.
*sigh* I love that turbo.

You have to use a ford's silicon becuase from what I hear it's the best. They call it Ultra sealant silicon and you need to get a new intake manifold to but there cheap.

Nick, I am so glad you got it fixed. I need to stop by your house and borrow that detector from you. Once we are both back 100%, we will hit the strip again!

Man...one more thing to check on. I haven't seen significant evidence of up pipe leaks but i certainly can't get much above 26lbs of boost.
Glad you got her worked out Nick!!
