Some of the things that keep me busy when not surfing diesel forums.

1. Rock Crawling
2. Working on trucks with the guys
3. Building Rock Crawlers
4. Helping out in a CNC Machine shop my friend owns.
5. Programming some parts I would like to market on MasterCAM.
6. Wait for my truck to be done at Empire Diesel
7. Spend time with the wife..

I am 35. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 10 years and we have a beatiful 3 year old girl and just found out that we have another little one on the way. I am a Police Officer in a small town near Tucson, AZ. Prior to that did lots of odd jobs here and there, retail, delivering heavy equipment, tow truck. ect ect ect. Prior to that I served 7 years in the US Army as a MP. I have never been really good at wrenching but I always seem to find my way around.

This is the interesting part. I am (used to be) a Chevy man. My dad, my grand dad and his dad were all Chevy men. My last truck was a 99 Silverado Ext cab. Great truck and would have kept it but it was a Ext cab. I'm 6'7' and my daughter is on my heels, needed a bigger rig. Started looking for trucks and GMC sold out to the Government. Well stubborn ole me won't own a government owned vehicle. Dodge took money to, so I started looking at Fords. It was going to be a F150 King Ranch Crew Cab or a Super duty diesel. Everyone I talked to told me to stay away from the 6.0 and to find a good 7.3. Well after looking for about 6 months I bought my truck off the original owner who took immaculate care of it. I wanted a truck that would not limit me to what I could do and would have plenty of room. We plan on buying a 35' trailer one of these days. I really love my truck and think I am turning into a Ford fan. lol. Thanks to FTE I plan on doing most of all the work on my truck now. Thanks

Funny how someone who is 6'7" and someone who is 5'6"(me) can be equally comfortable driving one of these trucks.

I am 48 and have been working professionally as a mechanic since high school in '80. I worked just shy of 15 yrs at an independent auto repair shop in a rural community. We also worked on tractors ans such. We had our own valve and valve seat grinding equipment and I soon became very proficient with its use. I did most of the bench valve jobs for the locals and did most of the engine work at our shop. I left this small town shop in '95 to begin my current job as a fleet maintenance and repair (mostly repair lately) mechanic for a coal ash diposal company contracted by the nearby electric power generating station.

I bought my '01 F250 PSD in '02 because I wanted one and had been working on PSD's for a water well drilling company, that my friend owns, as a side job since '83 to earn extra money. This side job now helps pay for my PMS habit for Big Red. LOL
My truck is now a necessity since I purchased a 35' fifth wheel camper and I need it to pull it around.
I love my truck and how it has evolved. I plan to keep it 'til the wheels fall off, put 'em back on, rebuild it, and keep on driving it.

Bill and I are parents of five -- Chris, 23, ex-U.S. Marine, Dylan, 18, Kylie, 14, Wil, 10, and Liam, 8. We also have a beautiful granddaughter named Jamie who just turned 5. Bill just turned 41 on October 26; he was a very young dad, and Chris made us very young grandparents.

I am a certified teacher who is disenchanted by No Child Left Behind, so in addition to working full-time+ for PHP, I also homeschool Wil, a 6th grader, and Liam, a 4th grader. The four of us are together 24/7. It's been phenomenal!

Most people don't know it, but in his "other life," Bill DJs. He's as passionate about music as he is about trucks and cars, and he even streams an internet radio station from our home!

I am a 31yr old crude oil schedular. I currently schedule a domestic crude oil blending program, as well as crude barges and a pipeline. My background is in shipping. I recieved a Marine Transportation degree and a 3rd mates license from Texas A&M in '00, worked offshore on the rigs for a while, then came shoreside for a tankship company.

I ordered my truck the year I graduated from college. I had always wanted the OBS and loved the sound and power of a diesel. Being a long time ford fan I had to have one.
I have been wrenching on my vehicles since I first started driving.
It has since become a passion and addiction.

43 years old, on my 2nd marriage with 18 month old twin boys from this one and two grown kids from the other marriage. My grown son is a US Marine, I'm so proud of him!

I'm a logistics manager for a mid size manufacturing company in the Denver, CO area. In my former life, when I had more money, I enjoyed club racing my Miata and four wheeling with my heavily modified Land Cruiser. I still have some of my toys but not enough money or time to play with them much. I also do a little freelance photography for a small local newspaper and any other photog gig I can round up. My web site High Plains Photographer

I started out with this diesel thing just af ew moths ago. We needed a bigger vehicle for the boys and a more capable tow vehicle. I cold not be more pleased with my Excursion.

Shaun

ok i am an ex-squid of 4 years and did 2 tours in the gulf in the world's finest Navy. (we own the Marines) after that i dibble dabbled around for about 7 years hanging garage doors and working for a police department which i didnt enjoy all that well considering its what i grew up wanting to do. i finally got my break and am now an air traffic controller at indianapolis center. i am 30 and have been married for 12 years and it doesnt feel any longer than 12 minutes underwater! i have 2 sex trophies (children) an 11 year old boy and 6 year daughter. i ride quad's (the sport kind not the grandpa ute's) i am an avid firearm sportsman and am currently trying to get into long range rifle competition's with my M1A that i bought last year. i absolutely love wrenching on all my own stuff. its very therapeutic for me to bust up my knuckles and come in the house 8 hours later smelling of diesel or wd-40 or with flash burn from welding while wearing a tank top. dont laugh i actually have done that!

Curious. Did you build your Land Cruiser when you lived in Denver? FJ-40? 60? 55?

I ask because I am from Denver and my dad rebuilt Cruisers for a while, and he was pretty well known as being the guy to go see if you needed a part.
