I am 44 yo and for the last 4 years been a testing protege for the medical field ( 4 back surgeries in 4 years). Between my wife and I we have 4 girls( 2 each from previous marrages) and 2 granddaughters 4 and 1. I bought a 7.3 because I always wanted a diesel (liked the sound) and I found one at a great price to tow our 12k lb 5th wheel. My wife shows our Great Danes and we travel alot. I try to meet someone from this site everywhere I go if possible. I recently purchased a 63 caddy series 62 convertible that I am hoping to restore soon for the wife, might just drop in a diesel!!!! We love the fin cars although my favorites are the 70-72 buick skylark GS and the 64-72 El Camino's.

I'm 39 and have been gasoline free for almost 3 years.
I've been involved in some kind of communications (radio mostly) since I was a kid. Went in the military and worked on microwave radio links in Europe in the late 80s/early 90s. Came back to the States and started working for a cell phone company (Nokia) where I stayed for almost 14 years. Also went in to the Air National Guard in after getting back and missing the military ways. I got laid off from Nokia in late 2006 which was actually the catalyst for me getting my truck. Always wanted a Ford diesel (specifically a 7.3L) for some time. I had been looking at them for over a year. When I got laid off, I picked up a deployment to Tyndall AFB, FL (Panama City), and was going to pull an RV down there to live out of for a few months. The deal on the RV fell through because my wife was in the hospital for 8 days. I ended up with the truck I always wanted and nothing to pull with it. LOL Always been a wrench turner though. My first car was an '84 Mustang GT conv. I kept breaking the T5, so that lead to me finding a 351W with C6 auto to drop in it. Man, that was a fun car...
I work for Samsung now (working with cell phones, of course). Got that job in late '07 after I got back from Tyndall.
Im a 26 year old heavy equiptment operator for my family business, Hank Sanders Inc. I have always been intk modifiying cars my first car was a straight 6 wrangler with race built engine. Next came a Geo Tracker with a full body kit and air ride suspension. Bought a Scion Xb new in 05 full suspension wheels the import thing got tired of the scene, painted it flat black red steelies bench seat rat fink shifter . Bartered for a 1949 ford f6 stakebody which brought me to this site. last winter i got rearended in the scion and totalled it . Spent the insurance money on my e 99 f250 and pms has put the 49 on the back burner

Im a 20 yr old restarant manager/owner. I started out busings tables and worked my way up to assistant manager at the restaurant I was working at. Then in 07 My parents opened up a few donut shops (clicky) and I managed them. In Feb of 09 we opened up dual concept store in Orlando. Its a donut shop and a Maggie Moos (ice cream) and I am part owner in that. Ive now moved back to MD to help my parents out with some stuff up here and for some personal reasons.
Ive had numerous side jobs though, and still do some of them. Everything from plowing snow to catering.
I got my truck because when I totaled my 96f-150 I knew I wanted a ford and a diesel if I could afford it. I was thinking more along the lines of a OBS truck but found mine for a good price and scooped it up. My dad has a 6.0 and friends who also have one so I knew I didnt want that
Im 30 and own a small lawncare company. Im married with no kids
Its not my fav thing to do, I mostly enjoy working on cars/trucks and just being around them. I mostly am interested in auto electronics and custom fabrication, mostly interior. Anything from basic stuff to wild sound systems. I also like radio communications and enjoy helping others in need.

Are you a Ham? I got licensed as a teenager, which is what got me started in field I'm in now.
28 y/o architectural and mechanical designer. Currently I'm shoeing horses with my wife to build her business and I'm back in school working on my BSME. Evidently they thought it would be a good idea to hike tuition significantly while the economy is in the toilet. I'm going to finish this semester up, try to get on board with a company around here and work to build more finances with our small business and purchase a business and another property. Unfortunately the economy has done a number on the engineering field here. Before this, I worked for a large defense contractor as the principal designer and estimator in Kuwait & Iraq for five years.

30 year old, married father of a 6 yr old boy and 4 yr old girl. I joined the Army National Guard when I was in college as an Apache Helicopter Mechanic. When I graduated from college in 2001, I went to flight school myself and have been flying the Apache since 2002. I spent about 3 years on active duty with the National Guard, during which time I spent one year from October of 2004 to October of 2005 in Iraq. I am now a contract engineer for AT&T full-time and still a pilot and also the company commander of the maintenance company in my national guard unit (which is a full-time job itself). I hope to go to the Maintenance Test Pilot course soon, so I can really push the envelope and fly the aircraft that the other pilots have broken - my wife LOVES this idea (at least I have a lot of insurance)! Other than working, we love to camp and the outdoors in general - backpacking, mountain biking, etc.
My wife actually bought my truck for me when I was in Iraq (yes, she's a keeper). Her father owned an auto shop and also a paint and body shop at the time and he also had a small used car lot which made it possible for them to shop the wholesale and salvage auctions. My truck was totaled in the front end, so we got a helluva deal on it. My father-in-law's mechanics did all the work on it to get it ready for when I got home. They did an amazing job because you'd never know it was wrecked and it has never given me a single problem. It had 30,000 on it when they bought it and it has 115,000 now. I really wanted a 7.3 because of it's reputation for longevity and durability. I needed something that would be big enough to transport the family and that I could use around our property. It was always a little overkill until this past year when we bought a 14,000lb 5th wheel camper - now I could use a dually, but I just love my truck too much and it has been so trouble-free that I can't justify getting rid of it.

I'm old. I worked offshore for Halliburton 25 years. Most of this time I worked 14 n 14. I had 14 days off a month and could do as I wanted, fish, hunt, sleep late. I retired the end of '05. I bought this feed and farm supply store in '03. Now I load feed all day, 6 days a week. . Sometimes I wonder where my next 12-pack of 10oz Miller Lite is going to come from. . I did get to the other side of the world a couple weeks ago. I went to Jims injector install weekend in CT, OH, NJ, RI, MA. I acted like I knew what I was doing and got to eat some Clams, and drink some good beer with some good people. Them little boogers (clams) were good. . Back to topic.
I bought my 7.3 because I didn't want to go fast or have a lot of HP.

I am 34 married a year and a half no kids. We have both decided to go the more toys the better route and borrow the neices and nephews time to time to go play. I drive dump trucks and operate equipment for a small excavation company.
I am an avid off road racer. I have my own race team that consumes alot of my time being in the shop working on the truck getting ready for races and rebuilding everything in the off season. I have grown up in a racing family I attended my first 4x4 off road race at 1 week old. So I guess you could say I was born into it. I am also an avid 4 wheeler and have had my jeep in Petersens 4 wheel and off road. I have been riding quad and motorcycles for years and a couple years ago got into the sandrail deal. That I am still learning about.
I bought my 99 F350 CC Dually 4x4 when I was 25 years old. We were racing 360 sprint cars and nascar modifieds all over the Northwest. I was towing the race car trailer with my chevy truck which had plenty of power at the time but was a bit scary being lifted and towing a 26 ft triple axle trailer loaded to the hilt with tools and spare parts ect. So after getting "pushed" through a traffic light by the trailer that was it and I was going to go buy the biggest tow rig I could find. That is where I found my truck and after 4 hours of beating on the salesman it was mine and headed for home. I bought it with 20k on the clock and it now has 138k. IF not for having a company truck that I drive all the time to and from work it would have a ton more.
So we have just bought snowmobiles last year so I am looking forward to playing with those again this year while we are on winter layoff. My hobbies being what they are its great to have a job that I am off for a month or two a year to work on my projects.

i am 34, married father of a 11 year old girl. I was former tool & die, which directed me into automotive production quality engineering (destructive testing). I think I was in every supplier and big 3 plant this side of the mississippi, having inside information made it easy to know what to buy and what not to... I am now a logger, not like the fancy stuff you see on TV, we are old school, chainsaws and horses. I use these trucks like they were meant for, 6 guys and tools of the trade..... Fun job, no more whiny customers, no more unneeded stress.
I also like to wrench on these trucks. There are about a dozen of us superduty owners in the local area and 90% of the work is done in my shop. I am like the walmart of superduty stores. I stock most of the filters for the trucks and skidders (yes, I do run a skidder at the loading site) and also have many of the specialty tools and nice stock of Ford OE parts, including a complete 99 truck for parts.
In my free time, I also like to build and modify trailers, working on a tri-axle dump gooseneck right now.

I am 42 and career Navy. I've been in for over 17 years now (less than 3 to go!), a Senior Chief and I'm an Electronics Technician by trade (working on the Navy's nuclear reactors on aircraft carriers).
I've been married for 14 years and have two beautiful kids, 10 and 7. We love to go camping (in a 40' 5th wheel that my parents have...yes that's still camping!) and exploring (in the truck). Any hill or cave and my kids can't wait to get out and check it out.
I grew up wrenching. Some people were watching football on Sunday, but not me. My dad would grab a Miller Lite and we'd head out to the garage and get started after breakfast. My first car was a Chevy Vega (POS) and I swore off American vehicles as long as I lived after 24 months of torture that car put me through! Then one day (about 13 years later) I bought my dad's '97 F-150 (2wd 5.4L) and I was a Ford truck man after that. Owned that for 7 years and then it was time to make a decision (150K on the odometer). Put the money into the truck or...buy a new truck! Did some research (including FTE) and decided with the 7.3L for reliability (and it's a big block!). I knew I wanted a diesel 4x4 crew cab. I don't like Dodge (at all) and my father has a Chevy 2500 diesel 4x4. The Chevy was a slim possibility but my father had one, so the bowtie was out. I love the look of the 99-04 body and the 7.3L will run forever. The wallet did all the rest and that's how I ended up with The Moose. One of the last 3 months of production that the 7.3Ls rolled off the line. My father gives me some friendly "ribbing" about it (his truck has 350HP, 650lb-ft of torque and 6 speeds), but even he respects the reputation of the 7.3!
