Thumbs up Welcome to our newest members - micklskot

I want to welcome our newest member to our chapter, micklskot. There are two bits of information I know about him. First, he has a '71 (bumpside) F100! Bumpsides are always welcome to the chapter.

Second.... Dan (Tigerdan) recommended him. We wont hold that against him.

Welcome to our group. We are fun chapter that really needs to have a g2g soon! Please take a moment to introduce yourself.

Guys,

Thanks for the welcome to the group. I can't thank Dan enough for the help with my throttle linkage issue. He went out of his way to help me, and I certainly appreciated that especially since I'm depending on my truck during the rainy season.

Little about myself - married with twins (boy/girl now 14), and a little six year old girl with special needs. Family is still out in New Mexico, so I'm out working at Beale AFB due to a job move. Hopefully we'll all be together next year. I'm a computer guy wannabe....work a little with UNIX/Linux; was in military for 8 years. I like the outdoors, guns, music, and FORD trucks. Recently sold a 94 Explorer 4x4.....still kicking myself about that.

Look forward to meeting you guys in person at one of your G2G.

Mike

You have a fetish with the 6.9s like I do with the DT466s.

Beale AFB is located on the outskirts of Marysville.

Joe were you asking me if I'd ever thought of putting a 6.9 diesel in my truck? No, I've never thought of doing that, but considering the way gas prices have been, a diesel is not a bad idea. Currently, have a 351W and that's a good engine. Maybe a diesel wouldn't be a bad idea next time around, or maybe I could just go back to a 300.

Mike

A 6.9 idi in an old f100 should get 20mpg, depending on gearing. One step ahead of that is a 4cyl cummins(4bt), which should get about 30mpg. My 4bbl 300 gets 12.

If I had the room like Mike does, I'd be hoarding all the good stuff. Diesels, 48-79 F1/100 parts, basically my own bone yard. Mix & match at will.
