I had the same problem in my '95 (slightly newer yes, but similar system). I tried vacuum lines, throttle position sensor, all of the usual. It always ran at about 1k rpm's no matter what I tried. Then I had the idle air control replaced and that fixed it completely.

well i have some updates. I have replaced the tps, iac, and changed out the in line fuel filter. What is the fuel pressure supposed to be at? It is in the lower 30's at idle, and it is the upper 30's when revved up, if the vacuum line is unhooked, it jumps up to about 42ish psi. Is that where its supposed to be or do i need to replace that too? I found my thermostat stuck open, so i put in a new 192 deg t-stat, and completely flushed out the system, and refilled it with about 40/60 antifreeze/distilled water mix. seems to be running good now, but let me know what the fuel pressure is supposed to be. thanks!

so anybody know what the fuel pressure should be? it does not do the weird starting thing and almost die anymore, and im getting better fuel mileage, before the t-stat was stuck open and was running rich. now it is running alot better, lot better mileage but it is still hard to start when its hot and i still have to do the clear flood mode to get it to start. any ideas?
