4.6 into a 49 f-1

well, we bought a FMC46L from Summit Racing, it is a 2004 4.6/4r70w complete assembly. it came with the ECU, engine harness, fuel pump control, and another piece that looks to me like a fuel pressure control. what do i need to install the returnless fuel system? we are going to get an ECU harness from a 99-04 mustang to complete that side of the wiring but i am unsure what else will be needed.

The fuel pressure control is the transducer on the drivers side fuel rail, little black thing with a connector on it. This communicates withe the FPDM (fuel pump driver module, originally mounted in the trunk of the SN95 cars)

Got any pictures of the part in question?

Just did one of these swaps but we swapped it to a full aeromotive return system with dual A1000 pumps

just this morning i received a reply from Summit Racing as to what the parts in the box were. they suggested to do the return style conversion.

the motor is stock, so can i use the factory pump from the donor 96 5.0 mountaineer? i am going to get the fuel rails to convert it to the return style system, any recommendations on brand i should be looking into?

also, my dad was over @ the shop yesterday and clued me into what was what, the part i didn't know what was is the purge device(two fuel connectors, one electrical and one vacuum connector)

Just get a set of rails off a PRE 99 4.6 Yeah the Mountaineer pump should work. Obviously you will need a custom tune to run it with a return style system. You will also need the tune to turn off the PATS, EVAP and I would recomend EGR.

I have used the detail zone harness and was great, but never their tuning. I always use tru-dyno sports. Tru Dyno Sports LLC Aaron does an amazing job and can get you what you need. Give him a call and tell him what you need.
