Universal turn switch issue.

My tuck needs a turn signal switch, at a car show recently the only one i could find was a universal switch, so i bought it with the seller assuring me that it would fit, the only draw back is that its not original and has to clamped to the column. No big deal, i bought it and was happy.

Today i went to plug it in and ran into a couple problems. The first is the original switch only had 6 wires, the new switch has 7 wires.

The second problem is that the two switches have different colored wires, so i can't just connect red to red and blue to blue etc...

has anyone here installed one? whats the extra wire for, or is this not the right switch? i can post the wiring diagrams if you guys need it, i have the one that the switch comes with and the one that is in the original shop manual.

they are upside down, i apologize for that, but if you are willing to help please print them, turn you monitor upside down or do what ever you have to to look at them.

wait, is your truck missing the whole thing? or did the switch inside the column break? that's a common part to break, and a replacement is like 10-20 bucks, just gotta remove the steering wheel, unscrew the old, disconnect wires, connect to new switch, and voila! done. Oh don't forget to replace the steering wheel!

Now...you are not happy because the "universal switch" you bought will not work.

1963 F100: There are two possible original Ford switches. It depends on if your truck has 2WD or 4WD.

C3TZ13341B .. Turn Signal Switch / Obsolete

Fits: 1963/64 F100/250 2WD.

CLEVENGER FORD in Porterville CA has ONE = 800-570-5554.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY in Arlington TX has ONE = 817-275-2381.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-----------------------------------------------------
C2TZ13341D .. Turn Signal Switch / Obsolete

Fits: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD / 1961/66: F350/1100 & N/NT500/1000 / 1966 F250 4WD.

JST AUTOMOTIVE in Lebanon TN has ONE = 615-443-3086.

DON'S TRUCK SALES in Fairbank IA has ONE = 800-462-4406.

SOEBY MOTOR CO. in Walhalla ND has TWO = 701-549-3711.

ANTIQUE AUTO SUPPLY has FOUR.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has SEVEN = 606-787-5293.

Obsolete parts prices vary from one source to another, so call around for the best price.
