Hey I am from laporte I have got a 91 ford f-150 4x4 the body is in really good shape but the motor and trans are about shot. How much work would it be to put a 302 in it it has a 300 6 right now I am planing on putting a lift on it with 35s. I have been told that the 300 6 would work fine. I is that true or am I not going to have any power to go mudding.
I dont think you will realy gain much swapping a stock 300 6 to a stock 302. the 6cyl actualy seems to have more torque. The bellhousing on the 300,302, and 351 are all the same, and the motor mounts are as well(i believe)The difference is you will need a different flywheel. I went from a efi302 to carbed 31, and would never go back.. I gained power, AND milage.
That is what I tought. I have a use 300 that is in really nice shape it only has 50,000 miles on it. do you now any one that is looking for a lift I have a 6 inch lift but one of the shock are bent.
