Just picked up my (new to me) 49 F3. The body is in pretty good condition and the previous owner swapped out the inline 6 in favor of a fresh 79 302. First gear will pretty much pull stumps. Second is for starting off empty. Third is an intermediate offering and fourth seems to be a pretty good all around driving gear. Is there anyone else in the Cities area that has an F3 to swap info with?
Is this tye F6 COE that's been in Truck Trader and Antique Truck Magazine classifieds? There's a guy in Lakeville who has a 48 F6 COE and a 1960 F100 for sale.
There's a 51 F3 with the original Flathead V8 in it sitting at my parents place back in ND. Always wished I would've had the time to fix that bad boy up. Of course it probably hasn't been started for 8-10 years now. *sigh*
:-X12 My F3 is tucked away in the garage nice and cozy while my 76 F100 is tarped along the side of the house. The F3 will look particularly good when I get done with it. Lots of time and money but well worth it. Maybe Santa will bring parts!
I just noticed this old thread regarding F3 trucks. I have a 52. I live in Minneapolis. The truck is from North Carolina (built in Norfolk, Virginia); I bought it from a guy in Luck, Wisconsin. I have pictures in my gallery.
