2003 Explorer

Hello, I have a 2003 Explorer that started having transmission troubles last week. After it warms up, around 3-4 miles the O/D light starts blinking. The O/D continues working unless I shut it off and then it won’t engage again until I restart the engine. The transmission shifts smooth on both easy and hard takeoffs. I’ve tried the engine brake test and it slows the truck very well in 1’st gear. There are no leaks evident. I have an OBD11 code reader, however it won’t work on the truck since Ford did an “upgrade” in 2005. It is time for a tranny flush could this be causing the flashing light? Has anybody any suggestions on what else I can check? Thanks, Tim
