Whos going to order a 6.2L?

I had asked a lot of questions on the live chat with the Ford Engineer on the 6.2 today but it seems the diesel took front pages in the answers... . So whos thinking of ordering the 6.2L? Anyone? We will be seriously looking at ordering one...maybe....

Guess I'll have to see once I get around to hooking you up for some tunes for my lethargic 5.4. Will be in touch real soon.
The deal maker for me would be the increased hp/torque of the 6.2 along with promised greater fuel efficiency. We'll see. More likely a 2nd year version.

Excellent points more power and some better economy will be a deal breaker. It will be interesting to see what the tow ratings are and how well the eng/tran combo does at pulling 10k pounds.

ps just give me a shout on the 5.4 anytime

I'll take two of them: if it is avail. in an Expedition by Aug. 2010, and a crew pickup 1/2 ton by Mar. 2011. Currently own two 6.2 GM's and they are awesome.

Thumbs up

If the 411hp and 434ft/lbs are correct numbers for the 6.2L, then my next 2011 or 2012 SuperDuty CC Auto 4.30 4x4 will have the 6.2L. I am sure...those are conservative numbers too. That engine has so much more potential...

What I have said in the past...is the 6.2L must provide more torque than my current V10 in order for me to consider it (wasn't concerned with hp numbers). If the numbers hold up...6.2L all the way. However...I will be leaving mine all OEM stock.

Just in case any are interested...my '03 V10 has 310hp and 425ft/lbs torque.

Those crank numbers look good and mated to the 6 speed with good gearing could be a good compromise to the 3v v10.

Yes, it should compete with the V10. Probably not for RV applications like Class C's ,etc... nor towing above 10K, but for the rest it should work well. I have owned many 8.1L GM's with 4sp/4:10's running gear. They discontinued it, so I took a chance on GM's 6.2/6sp/3:42, and it suprisingly did well compared to the 8.1. Not equal, but good enough to get the job done. I now own two GM 6.2's. I tow 8K through the Appalatian mountians a lot, but not enough to buy a specific tow vehicle with a diesel that stinks as a daily driver.

Ditto! And I see just how you have only 83 posts with your irrelevant comments to a thread! Either post something related to the thread...OR...go take a jump. Makes no difference to me.

Why hold back? You should share how you really feel. Why take it so personally? I wasn't intending on being mean. You on the other hand....
