You are right!
1965 F100/350 352: The engine is painted black, the valve covers are painted gold.

1966 was the first year that truck and car engines were painted Ford Corporate Blue...including the valve covers.

Glad to see that is the right color, becuase that is what I did. Speaking of valve covers, do you know what the correct valve covers are. Cuurently, I have 2 types I can use; one has "Power By Ford" stamped on the cover, the other does not.

The one without the stamping apparently came with the original 352 motor, altohugh I have no way to know if it is correct.

TG,
I believe the "Powered by Ford" valve covers were OEM starting in '66 to '76.
The one blank valve cover on your '65 may be OEM whereas the PbyF cover is from a newer FE engine.

To drop the front 3" will probably take the purchase of the new drop I beams but that is 500-600 dollars. You can cut out a coil and drop a little but without the I beams you will have camber issues. I am going to cut 1 coil out of the top of my front coils to lower mine 1-2 inches since I am budgeted and can not spend the big bucks. On the same note I am going to flip the rear front spring perches to lower the rear upto 4" but I will do the front first to be sure I drop it just enough.
