They may flow better than Flowmaster, but Flowmasters are one of the worst flowing mufflers available. Chambered mufflers are not good for performance.

Flowmaster 40 is 2 chamber and Flowmaster 50 is 3 chamber.

I would rather run a glasspack than a chambered muffler.

I have some flow charts at work, I'll have to post them up. Only thing is I won't be at work for a week, cuz takin vacation for deer huntin. I've never been a fan of the sound of a glasspack, but as with anything to each there own.

I like the sound of the really long glass packs.

I'm really enjoying the sound of the Magnaflow compared to the Flowmaster I used to have.

As far as performance mufflers go, straight through or the turbo style are the only ones I would get.

From everything I have seen and read, including a friends dyno tests, the Flowmaster does not flow very well compared to the straight through mufflers.

^ +1

They don't call 'em Dronemasters or Flowstoppers for nothing. Also, turbo mufflers don't flow that well either....

Texas, what do you think about this:
Thrush 24214 - Walker Glasspack Mufflers - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Thrush/Walker seems to be the one that makes the perforated tube 'packs. I toyed with the idea of a single glasspack before, but I didn't notice that there are two different internal designs.

I agree that the turbo style mufflers do not flow all that well comparted to straight through. It is cool though that the Dynomax Super Turbo has curved flow directors inside it.

That would probably sound good. Why do you want to keep the stock tail pipe though? I don't like the look of the stock tail pipe. It hangs too low and looks puny. You could run a single exhaust with a tip and tuck it up under the bed like this.

It might sound similar to this as well. He also has a resonater though, so your would probably be a bit louder. Get a tip that doesn't have the rolled edge though. Those look to late model for our body style.

My stock 351 tailpipe expands out to 3" the last 6-8 inches. It looks decent. In not a fan of the single tip stuff, plus it will help keep the cost down.

Thats cool.

I just don't like how the stock tail pipe just hangs out there. Its way too low.

Magnaflow is a good compromise

I have the Flowmaster 50 SUV and don't really like it, except when I'm on it! The Magnaflow I had before sounded better, a little quieter around town but pretty good when you're on it. I'll probably go back to one soon.

Thats cool traxiii. I feel the same way about my Magnaflow. I had a 50 SUV before as well.

It's funny, mine exits just under the body about 2 inches and right in front of the rear tire. Here are a couple pics of what it looks like. Has a 2 into 1 then a second cat before the muffler. The first cat has a the O2 sensor right were the two pipes tie together.100% smog legal and seams to flow well too.

Looks funny with trans. oil pan off, but we ran the driver's side right under the 7 quart Milodon (looks funny, painted black sides and gold bottom) oil pan and wrapped it with glass insulation. It has about and inch and a half clearance from the pan, and is still higher than the front cross-member by a couple inches for great ground clearance.
