I was still going over another exhaust set up. Maybe duals with something a little quieter. Idk yet really havent decided because I am 4x4 and have dual tanks.
That's awesome man. Sounds like a good neighbor to me!

Have you heard a true-dual set up on a V8 before?

I havent to be honest with you. IDK if id go with a "true dual" set up like most people would want to. Its kinda hard to route those with my truck set up

No V8 sounds bad.. but if I were you I'd look around / ask around and try to find a V8 with true duals. Have the guy do a casual drive by. You may not like the sound of true duals. I'd hate to see you spend money and time on something you end up semi-regretting.

I think you will be able to hear a Dynomax ultra flow with your cats still in place. If you want you could try running a Y after the cats and then 2 pipes with no mufflers. That actually sounds decent.

The Magnaflow should be here by the end of the week.

Yeah, if I had the $, I would modify a catted Bassani Y-pipe to work with the OBD II, and run a single 3" Magnaflow muffler.

You know what would sound good since you still have both cats. A glass pack. You could get what they call a torpedo pack. It has a Y attatched to the outlet. Thats about the only way to get sound when you have both cats and it will have a mellow sound. Just make sure you get the straight through one and not the one with louvered baffles. It is inexpensive. You could also get the Summit house brand SIDO turbo muffler.

^ I do like how the 351's sound with the cats and a glasspack, but it still a pretty restrictive system. Maybe after the economy picks up, I could open it up a bit. This past spring is spent a lot of time looking up different combos. I was set on a 2.5" inlet/dual outlet Cherry Bomb Vortex, with 2.5" Magnaflow tailpipes, and 3.5" rolled/slant cut tips from Summit to exit on both sides of the hitch. After adding up the cost, I decided to wait. Good thing, because I would have already banged it to heck off road...

It may be a little restrictive of a system, but on a stock motor I doubt it matters much. I only have the front cat and a 3 inch pipe back to the muffler and I honestly can not tell a difference in how well it runs versus how it was with the complete stock exhaust.

If I still had both cats, I would run a glasspack.

^ Did gas mileage improve at least lol?

After switching H-pipes on my car, I'm a fan of mid-pipe swaps. The sound quality and volume was increased. As was power. Your system sound like it flow pretty good compared to stock, I would like something along those lines.

I think fuel economy may have a little. I usually average about 16-17 mpg city/highway mix.

The only mods I have that would help with fuel economy is the exhaust, MSD coil cap and rotor, and Ford Racing wires, and the I6 air tube.

I got the Magnaflow installed on Friday. It sounds great. There is no more drone or hollow sound like the Flowmaster had. It has a nice deep mellow tone, but does have a good growl when accelarating. I like it and think its perfect.

Are you guys running headers ??? With out them your exhaust wont make much difference... Mabee thats why you have the drone , and with the stock cam its better to keep it quiet... Lew

Hey Lew, Yeah no headers on mine.

When the time comes that engine work needs to be done, mine will get a mild cam upgrade.

Yeah the reason i say that , is when mine was stock (95 302 ) i changed the muffler , and i didn't like the way it sounded , and it did nothing for performance ...
