Hey Bill, Yeah I don't know. The Flowmaster tone no matter if is is quieter is just hollow sounding. It almost sounds artificial. The 40's on the 65 have to go regardless. I am replacing them with Dynomax Ultra Flow which is stainless. I got a good deal on them.

I'll let you guys know when I get the Dynomax super turbo installed. Its just aluminized.

I'll take a sound video of it with the 50 SUV and then with the Dynomax. I don't have a sound clip of it with the Super 40.

The Magnaflow is stainless and has a lifetime warranty I think. Actually the Dynomax has a lifetime warranty too.

I think I am fixen to put 2" drop shackles on my truck so, I really hate the old looking tailpipe stickin out of the side of my truck, I was wondering if I put a turndown on it where I have circled on the pic, would be OK. Since its basically under the gas tank. I know its a crappy circle, but I am just trying to get ideas here.

Well this Dynomax muffler arrived today. I went to have it put on, but the case is just too big and won't clear between the frame and the driveshaft. So, I am sending it back.

The reason I got this one is that it had a larger case, and I thought it wouldn't be as loud.

The only other single in dual out Dynomax super turbo that is available is this. The case is about the size of a regular Flowmaster and will fit, but being that it is small, I think it will be too loud.

I have 1 cat and a 3 inch pipe back to the muffler location and then dual out the back.

I'm starting to think that maybe I should go with Magnaflow.

I want the sound of a really long glasspack but a bit more refined and more mellow. What will give me this?

I did get the Dynomax Ultra Flo mufflers (stainless version of the race magnum) for the 65 Stang, and they are perfect for it. They sound far better than the regular 40 Flow and the interior drone is much much less. It has more of an old school sound. If I could find a quieter version of this, I would put it on the F150.

I don't think it will be as loud as you think the dyno's i had a realy DEEP tone i did get drone in the cab but thats only because i had them in a Turn Down!

We need to set a day so we can get new sound Clips of both are trucks, and a drive buy

These are what I am considering now. I'm thinking the 12288 will sound good. Does anyone have either of these?

I forgot which cat setup you had, was it stock or Magnaflow cats when you had the Dynomax?

Yeah, we should do a sound clip with a drive by. I have never done a sound clip of mine.

I also use a Maremont 45683 3" mandrel bent tail-pipe. Probably an overkill for my stock 5.8L, but the pricing for all the components was very reasonable.
I decided to go with the same type of muffler as that but with the dual out since my exhaust is already setup like that. Do you have both cats or a high flow cat?

What I like about Mag's is how they aren't loud until you put the engine under load. Then they sound pretty good. Maybe you should look into Magnaflow.

My next muffler is going to be quieter. I woke up my gf's dad at like 1 am last night. He wanted to relocate my head.

I was going to consider changing my exhaust on my truck too because I have the 74 tht is built in my sig in the truck now with no cats and just the Cherry bomb extreme. It is really loud and I park between houses. Starting the truck up at 6:30 a.m. every morning wakes em up. My neighbors dont like me very well from the beginning and i wanted to try to change that some.

Until one of them came out very rudly and said that my truck was all noise and nothing to show for it. He found out real quickly why it had all this so called "noise" when I took off my exhaust dump the next morning and lit it up in the drive way

Cool, you should like it. Plus it will flow better than a Dronemaster.

I would like to put a single oval Magnaflow or Dynomax Ultraflow on the '96, but with the two factory cats, I doubt I'll be able to hear much...

Well, yeah, they aint that "dumb" but he did come over after i got home from work with a case of bud light and apologized for the "no power" comment. And then I kinda felt bad for doing it that early and said sorry too. We've been friends ever since

I was still going over another exhaust set up. Maybe duals with something a little quieter. Idk yet really havent decided because I am 4x4 and have dual tanks.
