Single Wiper Electric?

I have a 49 F1
I did a search, but nothing came up.
I have a Jeep Cherokee Wiper Motor, can I hook it up to my single wiper?
I did, see some pics of a Cherokee Wiper Motor hooked up to Dual Wiper Linkage , But no single!
If it can be done, let me know, and any pictures would be good, or what other wiper motor I can use in my single wiper truck.....thanks!

It shouldn't make any difference. The motor just turns. If you can adapt it to your original linkage and the eccentric distances are all ok then why not. Be sure to use the Cherokee Switch that goes with the motor.

I wonder if there has been a in-depth article on installing dual wipers on a single wiper truck. Cover the optional right side and if the parts are the same on both sides. What to look for in parts on Upay if you are looking for the right side parts. Has anyone experminted with other vehicle linkages and motors. What works? I think you would be safer with both wipers. chuck

In my search here, all I can find is the conversion of the dual wipers with the Jeep Cherokee (XJ) wiper motor, but for the single wiper I haven't seen anything..... or the use of another brand of car. If someone has done it it would be cool to see any pictures.

Ok again it doesn't matter if it's dual or single unless you are planning on replacing the entire linkage.

Your current configuration has one wiper arm connected to a motor that goes round and round. The JEEP wiper motor goes round and round. It doesn't matter if the motor has only one arm attached to it or two. All it does is go round and round.

On the 49, the conversion to dual wipers should be simple - dual wipers were standard on 51 and 52 models and the apperatus should be a direct swap. Dual Electric wipers were an option on 51/52 trucks with 6 Cyl. engines (and were probably installe don V8s as well).
