o2 sensor???

where would the o2 sensor be on a 96 f150 4.9l when i get this code. P0147 Heated O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 3)
and heres the other code i got...
P0301 Cylinder #1 Misfire Detected

I'm guessing the I6 has 2 forward sensors on each half of the header and 1 after cat sensor and that's the one you need to investigate, if the fuse is good change the sensor.

yes it is the I6. theres a fuse for the o2 sensor? wheres the fuse?

ok found the fuse, fuse was good went to autozone got a new sensor. it was original with 200,000 on it. i disconected the battery and we'll see what happens...god i hope this fixes it!!!

When I have O2 sensor issues on cars that have more than 1 sensor, I just replace all of them at the same time to avoid issues with them later.

i thought the 4.9 only had one o2 in the exhaust system?????

On the 96 trucks they all had 3 I believe since they are OBD II.

not trying to hijack a thread or anything but everything with obd1 has one tho rite..? i was almost positive my 95 f150 with the 4.9 had 1???

'95 4.9 cali model had 2 sensors, don't know if other OBD-1 MAF versions did too but it's possible.
