Do you need an original piece? If not, there are numerous aftermarket seatbelt providers. Just google it and you should come up with a number of sources

Wrecking yards are a good source for these.

The second you say seatbelt and 1979 in the same sentence, the partsguy at the dealer will say obsolete .... no longer available from Ford.

And that's correct...seatbelts for 1973/79's have been obsolete for over 20 years.

What color do you need? Is this a Regular or Super Cab?

btw: It's a felony in some states to sell used seatbelts. So...even if you do find some at a wrecking yard, you may not be able to buy them.

D8TZ10611A73G .. Drivers Side Front Seatbelt-Black / Buckle is Black / Obsolete

PIONEER FORD SALES in Plattville WI has ONE. Sorry no phone number is listed.

D9TZ10611A73F .. Drivers Side Front Seatbelt-Black / Buckle has "Brite" finish / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer has any.

I cannot give you anymore info at this time, as the obsolete parts locator system is down for maintenance.

It's possible someone might have the D9TZ belt...but I wouldn't count on it.

Quite frankly, I was amazed that someone had the D8TZ belt!

I'll be back on later today with the info.

so which aftermarket dealer is a good one to buy the seat belts from? Both of my seat belts need to be replaced and I want to make sure that the ones I buy bolt right in with no problems.

No one is reproducing these seat belts, and all are obsolete.

The only hope of finding new belts is from a Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor.

So, will aftermarket ones fit? If so which ones work? I don't need oem, I just need new seatbelts as mine are starting to go south if you know what i mean.

Since I was a Ford partsman for 35 years, and have all the Ford parts catalogs, I can tell you what Ford seat belts are correct, but...

I haven't a clue whether aftermarket seat belts will work...or not.

I have no idea what they look like, how they fit and etc. because I've never seen or used any of these aftermarket belts.

Are they lap seat belts only, or are they the shoulder/lap belt combination?

F100/350's:

All 1978/79's came with shoulder/lap seat belts as standard equipment.

1968/77: Lap seat belts were standard equipment, shoulder belts were optional.

I bought a set of seat belts for my 1976 Supercab from www.seatbeltpros.com they come in all kinds of colors with 3 diferent buckle styles. I ordered white webbing to match my interior. They bolt right in with the factory seatbelt bolts in the factory locations. Here are a few pictures to show them installed.

So the regular cab & super cab front seat belts are different?

Thanks!

No,the factory original front seatbelts I had in my Supercab were the same as a standard cab belt the had the double retractable belts. One retractor was bolted to the floor and one in the shoulder mount position. But the replacement belts only have the one retractable belt in the shoulder strap mount with the other end bolted to the cab floor. I couldn't find a place that made seatbelts exactly like the factory belts.
