Interior lights?

Ok this may seem like a dumb question but all my interior lights only work if I open the door or turn on the bed light! I cannot turn on the map lights or the dome light? I have an 06 xlt scab? Any suggestions?

Not sure what Flex Fuel has to do with it, but mine is an 06 XLT Scab Flex Fuel and map lights interior lights come on when I push them, with doors closed and cargo light off. Sounds like a wiring issue or something? Or the push lights are not making connections?

Lights

I've for an 07 XLT and there's a pushbutton by each of the reading lights that will turn them on and off. In addition to that, there's a switch on the dome light that will turn that on. If your's doesn't then there may be a wiring issue involved. Good luck

I guess it must be wiring! Because all the switches work only when the door is open or I turn on the cargo lamp! I don't think it is a flex fuel? I bought it used back in March.

Aye, I realize it seems odd, but in flex fuel vehicles the ac/dc converter for the gas gauge runs on the same power as the map lights. So here’s the deal, the circuit that runs the map lights is different then the one that runs the lights when the door is open, etc. Fuse 24 and the battery saver relay run the map light circuit. Id check that fuse, unfortunately the relay is supposedly un-removable, but I’ve never looked myself.

There is a letter in the VIN number that designates it, plus on mine the gas cap states it.... If you have not seen it on the gas cap, then you do not have it!

Looks like it is the fuse! That number 24 is blown so I'll pick up a fuse tomorrow and replace it hopefully that is the issue! Thanks for your replies!
