chaser1602 is starting off with a positive reputation.
I checked the FAQ's,still not sure

I am trying to figure out what size FE motor I have on the stand.
I had the head off so I measured from the deck of the block to the top of the piston with it at the bottom of the stroke.I got 3.5 in.
I know if I had the head on I would have a 360.
So what do I have

With a 4" bore, a 352. With a 4.05 bore, a 360.

Do you know what year it was, what it came out of?

Redmanbob is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE. Redmanbob is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
with a bore size of 4.030 a 352 thats 30 over I don't recall, but didn't think the 352 or 360 were 0 deck and venture to guess it's more like 3.625 ? CRS syndrome wins again.

Bring that piston up to top-dead-center, and see how close it is to the deck. A straight-edge over the cylinder, and a fealer gauge will tell you exactly.

Then, bring it back down to bottom-dead-center and remeasure.

Given that the only shorter stroke than a 352/360 was the 332 at 3.300", I doubt it's anything BUT a 352/360.

Measure the bore

When #1 is @ TDC #4 will be @ the bottom of the stroke so you don't have to move #1 up & down to measure stroke...my 2cents

For kicks & giggles, what are the numbers on the head between the center spark plug holes?
