94 Turbo vs 94 Stroke Flywheel????

Perhaps a dumb question.

Are the flywheels the same on the 94 stroke as the 94 turbo? Parts stores always try to give me stroke parts, is this a case where it doesn't matter.

I have the 5 speed behind the 94 turbo. I am doing a single mass conversion to a Valair. My parts guy tells me I have the right parts, but the say 1994-1998 powerstroke. Valair's website list parts for 89-93 non PS or 94-98 PS.

Thanks

When ordering parts for a 94 IDI, specify 93 7.3 IDI turbo VIN K.

Also specifically say not VIN F which is a Power Stroke.

Parts guys hear 7.3 turbo and instantly think Power Stroke.

1994 7.3 diesels

445 cu in VIN M is a 7.3 IDI NA
445 cu in VIN K is a 7.3 IDI turbo
445 cu in VIN F is a 7.3 Power Stroke

If you have a 94 and say it is a 94, you need to know the VIN code or just say it is a 93.

Yeah, I always tell them it's a 94 VIN K. Some don't get it, some think they know better than you, and some just don't care. I had one guy argue with me. He said if it's a 94, it's gotta be a stroke. I just walked out door.

From now on I'll be telling folks it's 93 VIN K.
