I check NAPA.

But you may want to ask this to the 67-72 Bumpside forum. This is the 48-56 forum

Welcome to FTE!

I moved you to Large Truck as that's where you will find other owners of trucks your size.

The C series have vertical mounted master cylinders. You have to fill them from the top by pulling back the rubber dust covers where the rods go in.

You should also have a remote hydro vac brake booster that provides the power assist.

NAPA may have parts, but you have to change the vehicle type to "Medium Heavy". I tried finding a clutch slave for a '69 C750, no luck.

Post 2 has an illustration of the clutch hydraulics. Post 4 has the part number for a clutch master repair kit and some sources. Since it was a 2019 post, hard to say if they would have any. They may have other parts you need:

Another source found by searching for the part number listed in that post:

https://nospartsltd.com/product/b8t7578a/

More of the same--BTW, what engine do you have?

How to add fluid and bleed:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post16971315

Brakes: Have you checked fluid, checked all lines, master, booster, wheel cylinders for leaks?

Brake drums are not available. All the rest is, but it takes some searching.

Brake drums ARE available for DAYTON (drop center hubs) with air brakes. They just need cut down to the right width on a lathe or mill. That is what I had to do. Advanced auto part number for the drums I used # 52230-10 16.5x7". I am also having 16.5x7" brake shoes cut down to size after giving up of finding a decent brake shop by me. Thankfully my F700 has air brakes. Long story short if you are creative there are solutions for "impossible" parts. Good luck.

So I went a different route and hired a mechanic. I live next to Port of Tacoma so plenty to chose from. He bought the clutch slave and the break booster but the master cylinder is out 4weeks. He is going to flush all of the lines and change at least one seal on the rear passenger side.

I feel better hiring this out as I don't have time and the mechanic I chose has plenty of experience working on farm trucks. And he loves this truck as much as me. I'm going to pass some of this info on to him though.

Cheers

I believe it is a 366 gaser

If you post a picture of the warranty plate on the driver's door, we can see what it came with as OEM.

A 366 is a Chevy truck engine. Your truck would have come with a 330, 361 or 391 as gas V8s. SD V8s might have been an option too, but I'm not sure.

If your mechanic doesn't know already, Brake and Clutch Supply in South Seattle has or can find/repair wheel/brake/axle/steer/suspension parts for old trucks - ask for Sparks

That's the one:

C75 = C750

M? W? Can you clarify this digit? This is the engine code and M & W are diesel engine codes for your year. BUT the Certified Net HP of 182 @ 3800 is the number for a 361 gas engine. See below.

U = Louisville Assembly Plant

F14327 = 1969 numerical series, May 1969 production date.

135 = 135 inch wheelbase

J = Red

C750 = C750, 24,000 lbs GVWR

1291 = Standard cab. I do not have the upholstery or interior info.

M = Clark model 285V five speed direct transmission

E3D
E3 = Eaton model 16244 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.50/9.04 / 17,500 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

D = Ford-Rockwell/Timken 7,000 lbs. Capacity Front Axle.

24000 = 24,000 lbs GVWR

182 3800 = 182 certified net HP @ 3800 RPM (see above about engine code)

440507
44 = Twin Cities District Sales Office
0507 = Special Order Number

This thread decodes another C series with the W code but the 361 power numbers. There's another one, maybe more here as well:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19508405

I can't find power figures on the Dorset engines, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be 182 @ 3800. Nor would a truck equipped with one of those have the axle ratios shown above.

But you noted already you have a gas engine, so it's probably a safe bet that you have a 361 FT.

Note also your truck was a special order. Unknown what that might be.

It looks like you might have Dayton style wheels? The ones with the big 5 spoke centers? If so, good, you dodged the widowmakers.

W also decodes to 361-2V/LPG Propane...but it looks like a gasoline "step tank" behind the wheel, which is curious because a step there goes nowhere, so maybe it was converted from LPG to gas with a tank that was available at the time of conversion?? Is it running on gasoline now?
The 69 shop manual does not cover LPG systems, so was the truck built as a gasser and then shipped to a conversion facility? Could that be a DSO order? Just speculating - anybody know?

I find that in the '73-'79 MPC, but no mention of propane in the '64-'72 MPC. Since this is a '69 it wouldn't apply.

In the '64-'72 MPC, there is no code for a DSO engine. In the '73-'79 MPC, there are multiple references to DSO for several engines. Detroits, Cats, Cummins, several propane models including the 361 4V & 2V.

As far as anyone who would know, see the link in post 10 to the Numberdummy decode of a '70 C series with this engine code.

From the Jan '69 Maintenance Manual, first Heavy/Extra Heavy box...

And I just noticed in the "Perfect C-series " thread, there is an advertisement about the option, just can't figure out if this was done on the assembly line or done at an upfitter later
