Isn't the main purpose of a site like this to find information from experienced members- giving help and getting help.
Thanks for the bump.

I live near Austin Tx. the phone book is useless here..
LKQ is just down the road and you can't find it anywhere..
and there are like 5 yellow pages.. AT&T, Sprint, Local, city..
I throw them in the recycle and try to use yellowpages.com which is helpful but useless for this kind of thing..
had a guy recommended to me the other day, on a trailer inspection.. said he couldn't do it, but just drive up down Main St and I'd find 5 or 6 companines.. yeh, but THAT Main street is 200 miles away.. and he couldn't help me find a way to get listings..
my old yp joke.. I KNOW there is a restaraut in NY City I would love to eat at, if I ONLY knew its name, or where it was..... oops.. my YP doesn't cover NYC

A local auto parts shop gave me the info for a salvage yard near here. (I can't find the card at the moment, but I'll look again or call the parts shop tomorrow.) I'm just north of LA, so I can let you know when I've had an excuse to check them out. Might go check out what type of place it is in the next day or two. I can keep you posted, since I make trips down to SD to visit relatives every month or two. Pretty sure the wife will want to head down some time soon if the seats are available up here.
Feel free to PM me if I don't think to check back tomorrow.

Sdetweil and T8R, you know the point. Thank you for that.
If someone asked me to recommend a salvage yard for late 90s GMC, I would recommend one down here in Otay. I would recommend it because it is the better one of about a dozen in San Diego County and I have that experience. I found it by driving around. It isn't in the yellow pages or on the internet. The only white pages listing for this place is for a towing operation of the same name. I've been back several times.
So I ask the experienced enthusiasts on the FTE forum for a salvage yard for Ford Superduty trucks. I have looked in the yellow pages and I have been to several yards around here. None were good for these types of trucks. Nothing in the yellow pages can tell you which one is preferred by Ford Superduty enthsiasts. So that is the point of asking in a venue such as FTE.
It is taking a great deal of difficulty to explain something so simple. If ya' haven't got an answer to the question, I thank you to not answer.
Or as Ron White would say "Next time some one asks you a question, do us all a favor... don't answer (paraphrased).
