I am looking for a good machine shop around the Atlanta area. Will go farther out if needed, but just want someone that knows what they are doing... Anyone recommend anyone?@?! I had a set of upper and lower GT-40 intakes, and a set of GT-40P heads done, but sent them to a friend in Dallas, TX last time. Would like to find someone local for the new set I need done...
I know it's not Georgia, but we just got our Block back (after 4 months) and Steve & my dad checked every bit of the machine work. My dad's been rebuilding and working around motors for about 50 yrs and said that this is the best machine work he's ever seen. It's quite a bit south of Atlanta, but if you're looking for quality. I don't know the name of the machine shop cause it's in Miami - we went through a place here in W.Palm Bch called Reit Motorsports.
Anyway, just thought I'd at least throw you a bone.
Sorry Georgia boys - didn't mean to step on toes. You're the closest to Fla. so I thought I'd keep an eye on what you're doing.
Thanks for the idea. I sold the motor I had been working on to put in my Explorer (couldn't beat the deal the guy offered). The parts I am going to do will come off the motor that is in it now - so 4 months would put a small damper on my transportation plans.
Killian Motorsports Inc. l255 univeter rd/ Canton GA. 770 345 5873,
Robert Killian, owner. Was highly recommended to me by Jim Tidwell Ford in Kennesaw, Ga. I went to his shop and inspected the operation, it was first class, you could eat off the floors, Robert works on nothing but fords specializing in high performance (drag racing ect...)parts and service. He currently has a ford he runs on the NHRA circuit all around the country. His garage has about l0 doors and he has a large staff. Most of whom have vast experience and appear very professional. I left my 250 psd with them and had the banks stinger plus kit installed. It was done right and it ready on time, I am very pleased with the increased performance and the instalation performned by Robert and his staff. I visited shops in Greenville S.C. (I live in Hartwell, Ga) Douglasville Ga. and Gainsville GA. before I found a Shop I would leave my brand New Baby (2002 PSD 7.3L extended cab). Good luck in your quest. I feel like we have in the metro some of top shops in the Country, Just a matter of finding them and if he can't help you he could point you in the right direction. Norman T.
