Don't now how I missed that one I do have a search for gauges. They do look pretty beat though. I will let my friend make the decision on those before I bid. He is willing to pay a good price for a nice cluster for his nice truck. Thanks for the heads up ED
The outer ring on those is pretty beat, but more important the fuel gauge needle is missing and the oil pressure gauge face is rusted beyond repair. I would question the condition of the gauges themselves. Other wise you can usually take the glass off and gently clean these so they look almost new.
Lately ther has been a set on just about every week. Too bad you didn't write two weeks ago about this. There was a beautiful - like new - set on e-bay.
I'd wait and shop for a couple of weeks. Also some of the guys who have replaced theirs with digital may have a nicer set in the garage somewhere. I have about 5 but all in pieces. I may have enough to build one up that is decent - I'll check and let yo know.
Question: has your friend converted his truck to 12 volt negative ground, or is he/she still running the original 6 volt positive ground?
I'll keep an eye open for you. I do e-bay daily for parts.

Welcome to FTE by the way!!!!!!
He is running 12 volts thanks ED. I was able to help him out on a lot of parts I had that are interchangable with his truck but I have the old style cab (1950) older guage.
I did bid on the first set and I was the second in line. On the other set I was unble to keep up I had gone on a camping trip and was not home.
You will need to install voltage drop units on the gauges to use with 12 volt. If you have any questions, I have the drawings and links with step by step instructions. for that conversion. It's really easy.

Keep looking on e-bay, some will pop up soon!
thanks for the offer I will take you up on that and help my friend get it going Ed
Food for thought. I have an NOS stock oil pressure gauge. If you get a set and the Oil pressure gauge is bad you can have mine.
The ones on e-bay look ok - just dirty. A VERY GENTLE cleaning with windex will cure that.
Also I have a new chrome ring I'm going to install on mine when I finally paint the dash. My old one is in EXCELLENT condition for a driver. If you get a set and the chrome ring is bad, let me know and I'll swap them early and send it to you.

I will take you up on that BUT I want to compensate you for the part. This friend is very generous not that I want to take advantage of him but he just said to me that he is more interested in getting the parts he needs for a price for the convenience of having the part. So I will see how it goes. That was a generous offer and I will keep in touch. ED
Take some good pictures of front and back and post them for us!
Well all I can say is that the gauges came in fast BUT look pretty bad, I kinda feel pretty bad, well here is what I got in the mail today $61 not much for the money.
Let me know what you want for your accessories for this set thanks ED
Give me a day or so to scrounge around out in the garage to see what I have. I just moved a couple months ago and that makes finding anything a pain. But I do know where the trim ring is, and I do know where the new oil pressure gauge is. I think I have some better gauge faces too but will have to find them.
These are old spares that I have just laying around or that I have replaced with new so you are welcome to have them for the postage. Send me a PM with your address and I'll get them to you as soon as I get a minute to look for the faces and swap out the trim rings.
PS I also have an extra set of Circuit Breakers I'll send just in case.
