2007 2WD 2" lift alignment issue
I installed a Summit Engineering 2" front leveling kit, coil spring spacers, to level my truck. I now have a 3.2 degree positive camber, looking at the front of the truck the tires are way out at the top. The Firestone shop said the largest kit to bring them back in is a 2 degree kit. They didn't appear to be very knowledgeable about the issue. Anyone have any suggestions, short of removing the kit?
Hard to believe they sell a kit that knocks the alignment out so much it can't be aligned.
2007 2wd Supercab, everything else stock, yes, I used the search engine but most posts are 4WD related.
Thanks.

To my knowledge there is no kit available. You might check into some custom made lower control arms with more negative camber built in to compensate for your lift thru an off road specialty shop. It would seem to me your lower control arms would need to be longer or your upper control arms be shorter to give the necessary camber change.

My truck is 2004 with leaf springs so not sure what componets are similar to the coil units. But the previous owner had installed a leveling kit, and the truck dog tracked about 1.5 inches turned out the tracking bar was holding the front end towards the drivers side, there are several adjustable track bars for sale to compensate for this, to the tune of around 200.00 dollars.
I decided if I was going to have to replace it I might as well try the suggestion I read on this forum I pulled the track bar off and drove the truck about 20 miles to let the front end re align itself.( you should not have to with coils just drove a few ft.) Reattached the track bar with the top bolt and measured the gap in the bottom bolt hole, it was 1/4" short of lineing up. I then removed the bar, and cut it in 2 pieces, using a 1" piece of sch.40 pipe about 6" long slid over the 2 halves that are spaced 1/4" apart. I tacked welded the assembly toghether then re installed on truck to make sure it lined up with bolt holes. When I was satisfied with with the length I welded up both sides of the pipe on the bar, painted black and installed.
And yes I was ticked this was not installed with the kit, I would not have figured this out if the alignment tech at Les Schwab tire had not told me about it.( I didn't even know it had a leveling kit on the truck). But once you look at the geometry of how the track bar works it made sense it was the problem.Hope this helps in your case.Doug
