I need to get the crank turned on my project 302. Anyone recommend a good shop to do this? I would prefer one up in the Westminster/Arvada area for convenience, but that isn't an absolute. Also, what kind of price should I expect?

I used a shop named Dettmer Automotive. They are south, Englewood to be more exact. They did a nice job one every thing done. I had b02 bored .030 over crank ground .010 rods .010 mians. Cam bearings removed new installed. rods reconditioned with new bolts. And pistons placed on rods. The bill was like $350. I think the crank grind was $60.

Thanks for the information! I did check at 2 places out north, one was $95 and the other $98. Kinda sounded a bit high, but it has been many years since I had any machine work done.

Hate to say it--but alot cheaper to buy low mileage 302 out of explorer than to rebuild. I bought one with 1600miles on it for $1100.Somethin to think about.
>Check out Mountainside Engine Exchange in Golden. Top notch
>work for reasonable prices!
I will do that! Thanks for the help. The project has been put on hold for a while due to a shortage of funds.
