Reason: typo
I had a POS Taurus before this one. My car is a 500 SE, with the CVT transmission. If you view this as strictly a company car, it is not too bad. Acceleration is decent, but the pedal is not linear. It moves out OK until you hit the floor, then it gets out of its way pretty quickly. Compared to the Taurus, the handling and brakes are way better. The Taurus understeered so bad, it would grind the tread off the front tires. The 500 is a lot better than that, and the brakes are pretty decent.
I'm tall (6'3") and I actually fit in the 500. The Taurus was a backbreaker on long trips. I would drive it to LA and it would take me 15 minutes after getting out of the car before I could stand up straight. The stock audio system is OK, whereas the audio system on the Taurus sounded like it was playing through mud most of the time.
So, all in all - I would give it a solid 6 out of 10. We'll see how it holds up reliability-wise. It only has 14,000 miles on it and no interior parts have fallen off yet (unlike the Taurus)

I had a 99 taurus for 3 years, 60k that did OK. Not a barn stormer, but as you said for a company car wasn't bad. I was just hoping the 500 had some of that heritage to the Galaxy similar to what Dodge is doing with all thier "family" cars. They could offer some performance options. Thanks for the input, good luck with the 500 and it's interior parts!
