Rapid Hitch or Diversi-Tech Drop Hitch??
Ready to pull the trigger on a drop hitch. Came across the Rapid Hitch with 5 1/2 drop and the Diversitech 6" Drop hitch. Just wanted some feedback with anyone who has used either brand, pro's and con's. If both equal quality i will just get the cheaper one pricewise. But wanted to hear opinions.
Thanks

I have been using a 10" drop Rapid Hitch for almost 3 years now and love it. Since it have 2 ***** and is adjustable I haven't had a need to buy any others which is good on the wallet. No experience with the DT, sorry.

Ive been using the Rapid Hitch on my Excursion for over 5 years now and I love it.
Before I got my F250, the Ex was my main tow pig, hauling my 4-horse bumper pull, my 31' travel-trailer (just locally, from point A to point B), and my 10k lb dump trailer without a...(groan)...hitch!
LOL!

I also have the Rapid Hitch 10". Been using it for about 4 years on everything from overloaded stock trailers, equipment trailers, and quad trailers. I think it's gotten a little too sloppy overtime. I have a friend with a lifted Duramax that has one also, and he is experiancing the same issues.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It seems both are good preducts and would serve the purporse well. I probably will be getting a DT 6" Drop just due to the price. Its a little cheaper. But for those in this thread....will a 6" drop be good or what i need with a 4.5" lift and 35's?
TIA

What I did was measure the height of my trailer's hitch to the height of the rear of my truck where the ball should be. My dump trailer that I have is the worst about sway, and the trailer should be level when empty and hooked to my truck. So I backed my truck up to the dump trailer (did not couple the two), and using the tongue jack on the trailer, adjusted the height so that the trailer was perfectly level. Then I measured from the receiver of my truck down to the trailer tongue to see how much of a drop I needed. That's how I came to pick the 8" drop. Doing it this way I made the right choice.
I would suggest measuring on your trailer to see what height you need, then buy the one that gives you enough adjustment height without being too big of a drop.

I run the 8" drop on mine, but I have a 6" lift and 36" tires.

Thanks for the info. I measured with one of the trailers i pull and with the 35s as it sits and 4.5" , It seems for me to have the trailer level i would need a little over 6". I know once the trailer is hooked up with weight , the rear will sag a little. So i know 10 is too much and afraid 6 won't be enough or it will just be enough. So i think i will be getting the 8" DT that way i am covered on both ends with a little room to spare and won't be wasting money or the hassle of retruning a product.
Thanks for all the help guys.
