What tires do you recommend 20"?

My 08 F250 FX4 Lariat is about to need new tires. I pull a trailer weighing about 8000 lbs often, but also need to work in the mud sometimes. Any recommendations?

I would comment on this question and give you an educated answer, based not only on my own personal experience, but on 21 years of work at a major tire manufacturing facility, but the last time I made suggestions on tires and pressures I was called out by a whiner who knew an administrator so all I can say is you get what you pay for. Sorry, If it helps look at my garage pictures. Hope that helps.

Feel free to drop me a pm - I would welcome your opinion. With the price of tires, I don't want to make the wrong decision. I have not been that pleased with the OEM tires.

I have my personal F-350 that has 325/60/20 Nitto's but I dont tow over 6,000 pounds and that is seldom. My work truck has 285/65/20 BFG all terrrain tires with load range E. They see alot of highway and jobsite mud and they perform exceptionally in both areas. The only drawback with the BFG's is the cost. If my memory serves me well, they were alomost 400 a tire. Doo your research and try to rule out opinion. Good Luck!!

I'll be in the same boat in a few months and am looking at the Nitto Dura Grappler's same size as the stock 20's. Anyone out there with any experience on these tires?

I have 37" and 35" Toyo's. they are a little over 400 a piece. I am not happy with the wear on them but what should I expect on tires that are meant for off road more than on the road. They do ride nice on both and I have never been stuck in mud. snow and ice once with a 10,000 lb trailer on but the chains got me out of that one.

Man, I just got a set of tires that I am SUPER happy with! GoodYear Duratrac's. They are really great and I tow trailers and they do a good job but not like towing with a straight up highway tire.

My 18" Load range E tires are excellent and I think they came out with the 20's too.

i put about 25,000 miles a year on my truck. half road and the other in the mud. i tryed just about everything out there. i run the cooper discover stt 35x12.5x18 i dont know if they make it in a 20. the nitto are good in the mud but dont last long and they are nosie and a liittle vibration in the stering wheels. If you get a mud lug tire u need to rotate them every 3000 mile. it will double the life out of your tires. hope this help and i think that cooper has a special right now 75$ off. i dont know how much longer it will last. and yes i do alot of hauling i have a 25 and a 35 goose neck trailors.

I never really liked Goodyear tires but I really like the tread pattern on those tires. How far down does the siping go? Half tread depth, full tread depth?

$400 per tire for 20"s, that hurts. Makes me glad I have 16s.
