Biggest tire on the stock 18s...
What size tires are any of you guys running on your stock 18s? I'm going to try and get through this winter with the Pirelicraps i have on there now but they will definately need replacements by next spring if not before. I'm toying with doing a wheel swap to a set of take-off factory 20s but haven't decided on that yet. I'm just getting into the pricing mode now and looking at different ideas in case I have to move on this sooner than later.
I figured some of you guys would have traded out or replaced your stockers already and was interested in opinions on what you ended up going with size wise. I'm looking to go a little taller and wider and I figure I can get a little out of it with the stockers but was interested to see what others had done without getting into clearence issues.
If anyone has ideas or knows people who have gone bigger on these newer Expys, let me know how they faired and what they went to.
Thanks Peeps!

right now, you can fit 33x12 tires on the stock rims without any issues.
after that, you need to install a leveling kit up front, and spacer kit out back. that will put you into the 34" tire territory if a 4x4.
you 4x2 or 4x4?
the 4x2 sits 1" lower than a 4x4, so they are limited a tiny bit on upsizing.
I personally would only go to a 33x10" or 33x11" tire.

Thanks Tylus. My 07 EL is a 4by so I do get that little extra help. I like the idea of the levelling kit and I'd like to do it, but the truck is still under warranty and if these eat ball joints like my F-150 did, I'd like to keep it as stock as possible in that sense so there no issues if I need to replace them.
Thank you for the info Tylus. I appreciate it.

Gddyup,
Right now i'm running Toyo M/T Tires LT275/65R20 126P E/10 on Stock Ford 20 inch rims with a Truxx Front Leveling Kit. Without the front leveling kit you will get rubbing with this tire size.
If you don't want to add a leveling kit, I would go with Tylus's suggestion. The tires that were used on the I Am Legend Expedition were the 33x12.50R20LT, Toyo Tires® Open Country M/T™ (Mud Terrain). They didn't use a lift or leveling kit.

Hope this helps,
